Had a tri week and half ago and first OWS since Oct and first wetsuit swim. Got kicked early, drank me a nice tasty gulp of water, and decided that I couldn't/wouldn't put my head in the water. Backstroked almost the whole thing. When is your next tri? You'll get them then. Thanks I am tempted to register for another Tri soon . Right now my next planned race is Super Sprint in early june with a lake swim . Followed by an OLY with ocean swim in late june . So Best Prep for me to Open water swim with the wetsuit 4-5 times to get confortable and relaxed in it and build me some confidence .
Ah-nuld says "DO IT!! DO IT NOW!!!" Thanks Ahnold !!! and Andy I am registered for OLY in June 9(with ocean swim) and I have a hilly 10 miler coming up on april 28th. Also am signed up for Malibu Triathlon Sept 8th . |

And we already have 7 or so on our deck and maybe 4 sticking out in the grassy areas and non traveled paths This is getting funny. Van P.... I am more of a "sunny" runner. Training I like mid 50's (racing maybe a little cooler) but on the bike, I enjoy (or at least seem to ride faster) in the upper 80's and 90's (at least here in CO the lack of humidity makes that nice |

Actually, I'm not going to tell you. The more people remaining up north, the less crowded it'll be for me down south. Carry on. Work out. Taser target time is coming soon. |

Champion 14677 | Subject: RE: April Challenge! peto_primo - 2013-04-13 11:57 PM I took off next week since the kids will be off Thurs and Fri - so I could do some stuff around the house as well as get some good running and riding in. This is the forecast
I was expecting sunny and 60-70's. I may just have to go to work instead and do it later. That sounds like my kind of luck. This week, it is raining at home while I am there, sunny while I am away and raining where I am going. The family will get to enjoy it while I am away though. |

Master 2055 Santa Clarita | Subject: RE: April Challenge! 2.65 km at the pool this morning , the water is 79F . Nice Workout Noticably two guys were swimming in the wetsuits (full ) Would the chlorine not be real hard on the suit ? Or is it this negligible and they get excellent practice wearing what they will wear on race day ? |

Elite 3489 Lakewood, CO | Subject: RE: April Challenge! Generally recommended against using the wetsuit in the pool. If that is your only opportunity to practice in it - do it sparingly |

And yes, the fear of the Tazer is mighty, no matter how purty they are. Bobby |

A well-needed kick in the pants. I did a mini-taper before my mini-race on Sunday, and have been forgoing the bike due to snow. Obviously affected my numbers... doesn't take long to go from overachiever to taser! In honor of this update -- I went for a run tonight. At MIDNIGHT. (On a business trip -- hotel has a 24/7 fitness center) Swim in the morning! |

Subject: RE: April Challenge! Impressive midnight run while on a trip, Scott (Hoos). You put me to shame. How fun to get a new bike, Sue! You'll have to post a picture of your baby and tell us what you named him/her. I'm spending the day packing for a full weekend of volunteering and then pacing the last 30ish miles of a trail 100 race here in my little state of Indiana. I'm so excited to be part of this inaugural event. This will be my first experience pacing and my first experience trail running through the dark of night. It'll be HARD to live by my motto to always run happy, but I'm expecting to make some memories and see my friend to the end of her 100. Crazy to go that distance, if you ask me. Dee - you make me laugh with all your tasering and singing. Have a great Thursday everyone! Edited by bswcpa 2013-04-18 7:47 AM |

You went to the beach - and you didn't invite us??? I think that deserves a tasering. I need to move. I live too far away from the ocean. |

Extreme Veteran 1222 Tallahassee, Florida | Subject: RE: April Challenge! Ok, I just upped my goals slightly so my percentage dropped. I didn't change the run goal tho because it is still a stretch for me to try to make 50 miles this month with the PF issues. At least I'm coming closer than I thought I might. About to go for a little run and get a sneaking suspicion I'll be singing Zippity Doo Da. Hey, that might not be a bad song for running. Edited by Pink Socks 2013-04-18 7:19 PM |

Member 26 | Subject: RE: April Challenge! Today was my first day of really not feeling it. I didn't have motivation issues, haven't had any of those since I decided to participate in this challenge :0 but once I got on the bike, that was different story. My legs felt bad, my feet hurt, my butt is always in border line pain and I just felt like giving it up. I pushed myself to make the 10 miles and it was a little faster than usual but I felt I had to go faster to make it through. I am definitely taking tomorrow off. It still looks like everyone is making good progress and I hope that everyone makes it and enjoys themselves in the process. That will be my plan for Saturday. Bobby |
