kns57 - 2008-02-01 10:13 PM Hi Nibbs. Looks like the Nibbs virus is running through us again. I missed it the first time, but sure have it now. Beth, make sure you get some ear plugs for the plane. I think they are called earplanes. They do help if you are congested. Helps keep the pressure from killing you on the plane. Do you fly out on Sunday? Yanti, that remedy sounds great.
Um..... What's different about an "earplane" than a regular ear plug? (Does it have some kind of hole in it?) You wouldn't want to wear a regular ear plus, as this would create yet another closed air space that can't equalize.... As the plane goes up, the surrounding pressure decreases. If your ears are stuffed up, the pressure inside your ear becomes greater than the surrounding pressure, causing your ear drum to push outwards. This may push out any blockage in your eustachian tube, as well. This may also cause your nose/sinuses to run. As the plane descends, the pressure increases. If your ears are stuffed up, this causes the pressure in your ear to be less than the surrounding pressure. The result is that your ear drum bows inward, causing pain. It causes sinus pain, as well. End of physics lesson.
Yes, the earplane ear plug has a hole in it. Thus it is not really a plug. It does work. Frank wore them back on the plane last Saturday when he was all congested and had not problems.

they really do work

I actually never fly without them

I think your random thoughts inspire my own random thoughts. Which is why my inspires to you get sort of... uh, random. LOL

P.S. If it's 66 F there today, why are you inside? Although, I sure can't say a word - I'm inside too! (It's 60 F here.)

Hm, are you expecting rain? That would be a good thing. I didn't hear anything about rain for here though.

I believe that we are supposed to get some rain tomorrow. I agree, rain is a good thing in the southeast right now.

Only some of them.  It's a rear-projection TV, so we have a bulb.  At least we can replace it.

Wow! Anyone else watching the Bowl game? Is it on at the same time everywhere? It just ended here.

Today is my 12th wedding anniversary. We spent it shoveling more than a foot of snow off of our driveway, and helping all 8 of our neighbors shovel/blow the snow off their drives and sidewalks. i wouldn't have it any other way, though. Now I've been gorging myself on chips and popcorn, watching football, and searching online for a new four wheel drive (4runner, pathfinder, pilot, highlander, etc, etc, etc)

Hope everyone gets feeling better soon!
