I'm a bit behind the goal right now. Had I paid attention to the Sat vs. Sun cutoff I'd have run yesterday and biked today. But...today's run and a marathon next Sunday should help put some mileage back in.

Keep up the great work LEMmings!

Well, it's not a big deal at this point.... The run will just get counted next week. As long as you get everything done by Feb 29th - that's what matters.

Good luck with the marathon next weekend!

Up to 45 for the month. Got my last 20 mile run in before the marathon. Considering how bad I felt during the week, it was a very nice run.

Go Lemmings!!

Will update in a while...

My Triathlon times haven't been posted due to a timing system failure (I want to cry!)  so I'm not putting the run in yet.

Last 20 of the training session for the marathon done!  Puts me at 100.5 for the month now.

Supposed to start my taper, but I'm still looking at over 50 miles this coming week I believe.  Ugh .....

Team Standings - as of Sun Feb 10th:

Rank Team# of Participants Percentage completed
1 Team Swimming Rocks
33 33.44%
2 Running with Scissors
19 31.65%
3 Gingerbread Joggers
16 30.39%
4 Team We  T.I.T.S.
30 29.11%
5 LEMmings - the reRUN. Over the cliff again.
18 28.92%
6 Pitter Patter of Fast Feet aka PFFT 18 19.41%

Congratulations to Team Swimming Rocks! They are the current leaders in the Feb Challenge!

I've noticed that some of the lower ranking teams have members who haven't reported in. In other words - the majority of the team is DOING FINE! But there are one or two people who have ZEROS recorded, which really brings the team total down!

Remember, your training needs to be reported on your BT Training log and on the spreadsheet! Team captains - please help your team members log their training correctly.

February is now 28% completed. So there's still plenty of time for you to SWIM, BIKE and RUN!

- Dee

Yeah, see - you're one of the teams that has people with 0% recorded in the spreadsheet. My suggestion is that you may want to check in with those teammates and leave some inspires for them. 'Cause as you see, it brings down the team total pretty quickly.

Hey - the way I see it...the month is 28% done, and we're at 28.92% to our goal. We're just a group of very good planners. Set a goal, and work consistently to it.

(I'll be PM'ing the few who have not updated the sheet, and hopefully by next week's deadline, they'll be updated.)

For those who are at >50%, remember, you can update your goal. (of course, these could be our marathoners who are now tapering.)

Good job everyone!!

The captains of Team Swimming Rocks have taken out their little pink whips. It seems to have worked. They've whipped their team members into shape, AND in a fashionable way, no less. LOL

Actually, they've ALL been really good about checking in on their missing teammates, and encouraging them - and as you can see from the results, it seems to have made a difference.

That said, this team generally has large run goals. And we know what happened last month. The LEMmings really did a fantastic job of hitting those goals. So I expect it'll be the same again.

That's why I put the little "ahem" here at the top of page 4 .... people haven't been recording their mileage.

Yes, I'm now on the way to "taper town" so my volume will be dropping progressively each week.  Although I still have close to 59 scheduled this week.  I doubt I'll be hitting that though ..... Tongue out

We have 3 that have not posted mileage. 2 have none to submit (one of those is sick so I can see that), and one still has no goal set, so do not know how that works being it is a third into the challenge. Everyone else seems to be doing fine. Keep up the good work!

Here's a suggestion for handling your "absentee" team members.

1) Leave some inspires for them. (This can be multiple people.)
2) One person should also PM them. (Just one person is sufficient for this. More than that, and it's like harassment.)

My reasoning - some people are new to BT and/or the challenges. I think we should try to get them involved, and help them if they aren't sure how to log training, etc.

If you don't hear from them by the next deadline for the spreadsheets (Feb 16th), check their training logs.
a) If they've recorded some mileage on the BT logs, just update the spreadsheet.
b) If they still have no training recorded on their BT logs, let me know. At this point, it's my opinion that you made a read effort to track them down and get them involved..... If they aren't replying and haven't logged any training by the 16th, we can just drop them from the roster.

Does this sound reasonable? I've suggested the above "procedure" in past challenges to teams with "missing" members. Sometimes, it was a matter of people not understanding the rules, or of not knowing how to use the BT logs, or they couldn't find the team thread, etc. So, in my opinion, it's worth trying to track them down.

Let me know what happens. (I try to keep track of all the teams during the week. But if I miss it, someone can post it on the Team Leader's thread.)

Thanks!

Dee
