Pumpkins, I just returned from the doctor. My left big toe is broken. No running for about 3 weeks. That puts me out of the challenge. Good luck to all of you.

I ran 3+ miles tonight but it was a bad run.  I'd hoped to get in at least 5 but hopefully 7.  Stomach issues, blahhh.  I'm still on track for the challenge, but wanted to try for a little more.

I'm still here...5.2 miles in yesterday.

I'm at 55%...we're 65% into the month.

I NEED to get my long run in this weekend.

Oh btw got my 20 mile run in lastnight, puts me at goal for the month already met (those long runs add up quickly) and puts me at my annual run goal of 1000 miles run for 2008. I will really need that recovery week next week.

Pumpkins, our very nice challenge leader - movingsouth/Cynthia - is going to allow me to pro-rate my goal. Because my injury has forced me to stop running with a third of the month left, my goal will be prorated to the 2/3s I was able to run. This reduces my goal to 148.5 miles and since I have run more than that I will be at 100% of goal and won't negatively affect the team. Good luck to the rest of you as it appears you all are on track to make your goals. Go Pumpkins!

I'm going to try putting my bike on the trainer and see how that goes. The doctor doesn't want me to do any exercising that could cause my toe to flex.

Hrm how ya gona tell if you are flexing your toes on the bike.... Did he put a splint thingy on your toe or....

I would think that even if you are not "using your toes" in a given exercize that you may "flex them" as an extension of using related muscles.

You need one of those futuristic bone fusers that just fix the bone with a glowy red light ray.

Oh well hang in there.

I had a week dominated by fatigue but I am still on track. Did my group run training this morning.

Bad luck Don. I hope you recover quickly.

Hey everyone, just back from a 4.5 mile run with the dog and watching an amazing sunrise..i love when the sky changes while youre running---black to purple to pink to orange to white clouds. Its really something incredible.

I now have 40 miles for the month. Have at least 10-12 more scheduled for the month so should easily hit my 50

Hope the sun's shining where you all are,

Greetings Pie-rs!

Update your logs and spreadsheet and look to your final week of running -- will you meet your goals?  I'll check team standings tomorrow eve and post to all where teams are placed.

Who's running on Turkey day?  It's my birthday so run a good race for me!  I'll be doing a 5K.  It was meant to be my first 10K but after my late Oct/early Nov injury, I'm not going to push it and re-injure myself.  The first 10K will have to be later.

Keep on runnin'

-Cynthia

I've called y'all pies, but really you're just the fillings... soon it'll be time to put the topping on, toss in the oven and serve up with whipped orice cream.  Looks like the Pumpkins will have it - who else?

Apples  72.74%

Pecans 74.94%

Pumpkins 82.90%

Pumpkins, it looks like you're all continuing to do well and putting up some solid numbers. Last week, keep it up and the victory is assured.

It's been a week since my last run. All the pain and swelling in my toe is gone, but I still can't fully bend it yet. Hopefully I'll be able to try running by this time next week.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!

I reached 100% last night.  I still have a 5 mile run on Thanksgiving day and I may try to get a few more miles in either Wednesday night or some time this weekend.

Yes, he said 3 weeks or possibly sooner if the above conditions are met. 2 out of 3 so far. I'm waiting until I can fully bend the toe. Hopefully that will be by next week.

I did get in a decent trainer session today.

Luck on that toe...

I am at 148 miles (most ever in a month) and a few days left to get in there. I still have to decide what to do about Saturday, a 700 mile drive day, but shrug i will be ok with the month's goals either way so I guess one short run shouldn't make or break anything.

Got to swim this week, but the combo of swimming a couple 1.5 milers and then playing almost 3 hours of racquetball has resulted in some shoulder issues. 8(. Oh well.
