Regular 92 Shoreview, MN | Subject: RE: Twin Cities Marathon / TC 10 Mile: Roll Call! That was a pretty awesome event! It was amazing to see all the people out there cheering the runners on. I ended up bombing out at around the 30k but still hung on for a 3:13:53 and my Dad who also ran it pulled off a PR of 4:16:11 I was excited for him. I would have liked to have held on for a BQ time but it wasn't in the cards. I posted a race report here: http://www.beginnertriathlete.org/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=183049 . Time for a bit of a break from training now. I'll pick back up for a prep phase over the winter and then a full training load next spring to start getting ready for the inaugural FullRev triathlon at Cedar Point next September. |

I did my first 10 Mile race in 1:02:43, and then jumped into the chicken costume. Then we did this for the marathon runners: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YP5n7clENdE Hilarious! But I think you need a choreographer for next year. And maybe some go-go girls to back you up. |

I was happy to see the beer stop and the chicken suit! Both made me smile. Tom, I wish you'd been able to give it a go - I'm curious about that Crossfit stuff. The woman who organizes the track workouts I did this summer (she's a wicked fast triathlete and runner) swears it's the greatest thing ever. Anyway, you know I think training's totally overrated. Who's in for a Monster Dash event?? I'll be there with the kids. My husband is in for the 10-miler. I'm going to do the Monster 10 Miler. Penance for missing last Sunday. KC, is that Darcy Franklin you're referring to? Can't imagine there are many other wicked fast runner-triathlete-CrossFitters out there. She's one of the trainers at the gym I go to. And she's a complete stud. See her in CrossFit action here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzKmyHOzNYo |

Congrats to you and your dad! Enjoy the break from training. FullRev looks like a great race. I made many a summer trip to Cedar Point growing up. That's cool that the bike and run routes cover both causeways. Edited by sparco 2009-10-06 1:48 PM |

Expert 1092 St. Paul, MN | Subject: RE: Twin Cities Marathon / TC 10 Mile: Roll Call! Yeah, I'm thinking about the Monster 10 Mile now too!..... Big thanks to BikerGrrrl for cheering at the TC 10 Mile this weekend! Thanks for the great photo of me running by!! I posted it on my blog this morning. For those of you interested in TC 10 Mile / TC Marathon photos, Gary Westland from Charities Challenge was out within a mile from the finish line, and he was snapping photos like crazy. Here's the link to his photo album: http://www.charitieschallenge.org/cceventphotos/2009%20Active%20Com... I put up a bunch of photos too: - My race report: http://iwannagetphysical.blogspot.com/2009/10/tc-10-mile-race-repor... - Cheering as the farm animals: http://iwannagetphysical.blogspot.com/2009/10/family-10-milers-and-... - More photos: http://iwannagetphysical.blogspot.com/2009/10/pharmie-and-i-like-to... |

Member 20 | Subject: RE: Twin Cities Marathon / TC 10 Mile: Roll Call! Thanks for the farm animals! I yelled (probably more a mumble) "BT!" as I ran by. That was all I could manage as I had cranked it up for the final stretch. I did it in 4:20, which is a minute and a half behind my last year's time, but I trained better for 2008. One of these years I'm going to take the summer to train and get a BQ, though that's a pie high in the sky for me. Steve, you were passing out beer with my peeps! Thanks, I guess they got shut down, thankfully it was after I got my down-down. I was so looking forward to that RR bridge... One of these Sundays I'll catch you at a hash. |

Veteran 185 St. Cloud, MN | Subject: RE: Twin Cities Marathon / TC 10 Mile: Roll Call! Hello, Just joined and found this thread. Congrats to all who put up good times! Did the tcm this year in 3:33. It was my first marathon since the 26.2 leg of the Faribault Triathlon in 1985. Anyone here happen to remember that one? Looking to seeing what the upper midwest tri scene has to offer! |

Is your dad's name Andy? If so I think I ran with him for a good bit at the end especially and I remember him saying something about his son was running and would be done long before him. |
