Take care of yourself! You have two days to get rid of that cold! We wouldn't want you not to be able to run in October. Really, I hope you feel better soon. Never fear...I hope to make a quick recovery. |

Elite 4372 Connecticut | Subject: RE: Team 3 Halloween Run Challenge iowagander - 2009-09-28 2:28 PM Hey everyone, this is Tom! Thanks for having me on the team. I'll get my goals onto the spreadsheet this afternoon if my work computer will let me. Here's a little about me: I'm living and working in the San Diego area right now and am looking forward to actually being in town this winter (I'm in the Navy) to enjoy the year round opportunities here. I greq up in Minnesota and went to college at Iowa State (what part of town are you in Neal?) so I know what it's like to be stuck in the gym all winter. I'm still definitely a tri-beginner, mostly because I still don't have a bike. I plan to fix that as soon as possible though, and am hoping to get several events in next year. In the mean time I'm looking to continue building my running base as I get ready for a local half-marathon in January. That will be my longest distance ever, and I'm pretty excited about it. Oh, and FWIW, "Show Us Your Ghoulies" gets my vote because it makes me laugh too. Total hijack but I saw Navy and thought I'd pop back in. My hubby is Navy. What do you do? Where are you stationed? How long? We've been in CT for 2 years. Bry is a chief A-ganger on subs. How do you like San Diego? We never made it out there. Just bought a house and Bry will be retiring soon (in theory!). |

I think there's a half a pie in the fridge that's not going to survive the night...... I am having grilled chicken and rice....my naughty snack was a bowl of starbursts. I feel the guilt. |

Every one eats on a different schedule tonight! But baked ziti is not so bad, glad I put some in the freezer. We are making homemade pizza tonight for dinner. Can I come to your place for dinner?...Chicago, hmmm I could be there in about 4 hours. Sure...it might be cold when you get here, but pizza is better that way isn't it |

I'm a SWO (ship driver) currently working in recruiting. I've been in San Diego for the last 2 1/2 years. Sometime next year I'll either be going back to a ship or to grad school in Monterey. Guess which I'd prefer? I have a little while to go before I can retire - today is actually my 10 year anniversary in the Navy. I like San Diego, except for how expensive iit is and the fact that my 22 mile commute averages 50 minutes (on a good day). Oh well. Neal: That's cool - I really like North Ames. What's the park up there with a nice jogging trail? I did that a few times with some friends when I was there. I used to live right behind the HyVee on West Lincoln. At least it was close to campus... |

It's only about a mile away from my apartment. |
