Needs to go change shorts - hopes co-workers have a thick cold with nasal congestion.

this hit me this morning. it's coming!

combine excitement about IM with sitting on my bum for six weeks due to sickness/injury and GEEZ am i ready to get back on my bike! though sitting on your bum is great for buying a new saddle, aerobars, tires, hubs, rims, ... and making your bike LOOK fast at least.

Weather is starting to finally warm up around here, it'll be nice to not have to run or bike out in the cold anymore, but at the same time the race isn't until late November... and for me, that means the weather will have already started getting a little colder around me (along with more snow as early as September).

Is anyone else worried about how their training will be in October/November leading into the race when the weather starts to turn away from the awesome summertime training weather?

I was cognizant of that this year and tried to think about it in Oct/Nov. It will be a bit of a trick to work out with shorter days. But we have a lot to think about before then!

Yup, I have thought about this quite a bit as well.  We're going to run into the same problem in Mass.  I really like doing OWS and there's no way I'll be to do OWS up until I head to AZ.  However, with the right apparel, I'm hoping to still be able to get most of my rides in outside, but time will tell.

2nd week in training to the road to Arizona...so far it has been slow..I am trying to recover from a lateral release that I had done a month ago...arms only in the pool, wogging (walk jogging) and no bike so far. Tomorrow is the first day on the bike...crossing fingers the legs still remember...

I have been worried I am not going to get enough hot weather training in and I will melt in AZ in Nov...added hot yoga to the mix for the heat training

7 months......already getting some good distances in on the bike (thankfully the weather is finally starting to cooperate for the weekend rides).  I got a 12.5 mile run in Friday night, 2.4 mile swim Saturday AM, and a 70 mile ride in on Sunday, so I am feeling pretty good about my progress.  I, like everyone else, am worried about the outdoor training this fall in CO and not being able to get the distances done in Oct/early Nov to keep the fitness I build this summer.

Yup ..Im in Southern New England and I ve thought about the shorter days/ colder weather..Ive done OWS as late as the end of October..may just have to suck it up and go a little later..I also plan on taking a few half days here and there to get some longer mid week stuff in if I need to.

We've got the opposite problem down here. Our training in June-August is severely restricted by hot temperatures. It's hard to find time for a long run when the nighttime low is 95F and the high is 115F.

What plans are you all using?  I was going to do BTs 20 week plan.  It would be great to have a plan that started now.

I thought so. There are a bunch of us in Arizona doing that same plan.  I've attached the spreadsheet if you want to take a look.

Since you are from AZ, what kind of weather do you think we can expect? Wind? etc...
