Subject: RE: Philly Tri Official ThreadHey, btw, thanks for the info before the race. I managed to get a reasonable preview of the course by starting Friday at 6am and taking your suggestions into consideration. Philly was only my 2nd Tri, and I'm still on a post-race high for beating my goal by over 12 minutes. My swim & bike were the best I could have imagined. My transitions weren't bad considering how much ground we had to cover in T1 & T2. And I survived the run by switching to a race-walk after about 1.5 miles (between the heat and my knee problems, it was the right thing to do.) I did the fastest race-walk that I've ever done, and only was 4-5 minutes slower than I had anticipated if I managed to run most of it. Loved the water temp!! I'm so sorry that my first half is scheduled to be in icy cold Old Orchard Beach this August. Next season, I stick to warm water races. Speaking of next season, hope to give Philly another Tri. |
