JoshR - 2012-09-19 11:22 AMI'd like to start making some sort of a weekly wager with my opponents. Something simple like add something to your signature. When I get home I'll see who my opponent is and propose a wager.
Perhaps you can start by adding "I got crushed by a 16-yo FF newby" to your signature for the rest of THIS week?

Crushed? I believe I was the 4th or 5th high score for the week despite the refs screwing sjax out of a TD. Don't worry I've already picked out your bet. You're going to suddenly become a huge BSU fan.

You were 6th highest scorer, in 12-team league that's mediocre in my book. Unless you use the same skewed rating system that had BSU as a national contender in past years.

Yes crushed, whipped, smoked, annihilated. By a 16-yo with little experience but great genetics! Maybe spend less time picking out bets you're going to lose anyway (and second guessing the refs)  and more time on pre-draft analysis and managing your team?

JoshR - 2012-09-01 9:04 PM Well it looks like the only team I'm nervous about is Avangard Omsk. See you in the title game.

I know it's early, but the only team you were nervous about is now 0-2. Were you nervous that they wouldn't be there to keep you out the cellar?

For the season you have 7 more points than me. You're 4th, I'm 5th. Does that make us both mediocre? If Sjax's TD hadn't been overrules by the awful refs I'd be 1 point behind you. There is also no way Megatron scores 0 TD this season. Once he starts scoring, I'll be the high scorer, no question. Not to mention the incredible luck you got in Fjax going down in the 1st quarter week 1. You'd be in the bottom half of points without Spiller get RB1 carries. By the time we play in week 10, spiller will be losing most of his carries to fjax and you won't even have a 2nd RB worth mentioning.

ETA: You're #1 pick is sitting on your bench...and he's not injured.

Mmmm, we were talking about last week, vis-a-vis your future wagers. Sixth is mediocre. First is not mediocre. You were sixth, Me? I was first. Got it? Should I type slower?

Yep, the league's leading rusher will automatically go to nothing when the guy he replaced returns. No one has ever lost their starting job to injury. And Boise State can play with the big boys. And the moon is made of cheese. And the tooth fairy is real.

There's only thirty points separating the top seven teams. It's a long season, anything can happen.

ETA: My #1 pick is on my bench because he sucks big-time the LEAGUE'S.LEADING.RUSHER is taking his place. That's fantasy and IRL.

I may or may not have drafted Fjax in my other paid league and then someone stole Spiller in the 5th! I'm still bitter about it. I tried multiple trades before the season started to steal spiller and he wouldn't do it. Having said that, I hope Spiller gets turf toe.

I think we should have a nice little match up this week. Must be difficult for you though knowing that your boy Marshawn is going to lead to your defeat.

The good news is my Seahawks offense is kind of awful this year. Lynch can get his 100 yds, but unless Pete opens up the offense for Wilson, he might not score. The worst part is I'm starting Sjax against the Hawks D, which is allowing a measly 58 yds/gm. I need a big game out of megatron and newton to take this.

I'm sending him a few extra packages of skittles this week, he'll get in.

I have a couple game time decisions to make on who's starting. I hate starting players playing against my team, when they could get shut down. I had to start AP vs. my Niners last week in another league...didn't work out too bad.

In one of my other leagues I've got Marshawn Lynch, DeMarco Murray, Darren Sproles, and Jacquizz Rodgers.  It's not PPR so RBs are preferential.  Sproles has a tough matchup at Green Bay.  Murray has an even worse matchup vs. Chicago.  Thinking about leaving Sproles on the bench and giving Jacquizz my flex spot.  Or moving Sproles to RB2 and giving Murray the week off.  Is this completely insane?

After a disappointing loss to Josh and Bro lo el Cunado this week I thought there were a few things I should point out:

1. Josh is clearly a cut above the rest when it comes to team management.

2. His drafting skills are unparalleled. Even passing up his home team running back because he knew it was best for his team. (and I drafted him first)

3. His passion for FFB can't be matched as he was even able to talk Marshawn into eating less Skittles before the game, which ultimately led to a Seahawks loss.

4. The Bro lo el Cunado defense is so good that Kenny Britt was afraid to play against him and Joe Flacco wouldn't even look the way of Dennis Pitta.

5. Tony Romo is terrible. Not quite Mark Sanchez bad (#goniners)

6. I would love to say that I was surprised by my demise, but I really wasn't as I knew I clearly had no shot a defeating such a superior owner/general manager. Jerry Jones should be taking notes.

That is all.

No kidding.  Barack Obama would be so proud of the parity in this league.  Anyone scoring more than 115 points in a week should pay a luxury tax to everyone else.

Well this week I went up against the powerhouse known as POMNEYNOMICS (What does his name even mean? No one knows, he's so mysterious and amazing). He was very generous and allowed me to pretend like I had a chance of winning by starting off the week with Mendenhall's Achilles on Thursday night football. All this did is get my hopes up that I could beat the clear front runner. Then he even spotted me Steven Ridley, who everyone knew would suck because of how amazing the Seahawks defense is. I was growing ecstatic, I might have a chance. I was up 17 after the afternoon games and still had a potential huge game from D. Thomas on MNF. Then his incredible 1st round selection took the field.

All I could do was stare in horror as Jordy Nelson caught TD after TD. The Texans stopped GB inside the 10? Awesome. Oh wait it was negated 3 times by penalties. Oh look another TD by Rodgers. At this point I was lying curled up in the fetal position begging for my mommy. The carnage continued. Rodgers finished with the 51 points, the best total by far of the season, showing why he was taken #2 overall and delivering a giant kick to my nuts.

I'm not sure I can continue on in fantasy football after the butt whipping I took this weekend.
