Just convert for 2 and the game is tied at worst.

Just skip the last drive by Seattle with 4 different plays with highly questionable calls and the Pack wins 13 - 7.

Hey, why hire the real refs back at all? Teams will all be playing with the same incompetent officials making the wrong calls, right?

We can play that game all day long.

In fact, why have rules at all? Let's just make 'em up as we go.

Shall we skip the 8 sacks in the first half too? Is there no part of you that is willing to acknowledge that the Packers should have never let themselves get into a position where the score was that close at the end of the game? Dude, your homerism is showing. They played horribly all night, bad calls or not.

This brilliant video explains the whole Green Bay "Intercept-sham" fiasco very plainly, in clear Taiwanese. Enjoy.

GomesBolt - 2012-09-26 12:44 PM As a disinterested 3rd party to this discussion and as someone who has seen the replay 3 or 4 times.

It clearly was the deciding point in the game. It was a 50/50 call and they went with the TD.

It's like the Jim Joyce blown call in the Perfect Game in the 2010 MLB season.

But no amount of complaining about the refs will make a difference. The game is in the books. Don't make it a 1 play game next week.

I say this also as someone who still harbors ill will toward one of the best refs (Ed Hochuli) over a blown call that cost the Chargers.
It wasn't a 50/50 call. It was an obviously incorrect call, whether based on the wording of the rule or what could be observed on the field. Rule 8 - Section 3 - Article 1 - Item 5: Simultaneous Catch. If a pass is caught simultaneously by two eligible opponents, and both players retain it, the ball belongs to the passers. It is not a simultaneous catch if a player gains control first and an opponent subsequently gains joint control. If the ball is muffed after simultaneous touching by two such players, all the players of the passing team become eligible to catch the loose ball.

By rule, possession is not established until the receiver is on the ground. Jennings caught it in the air first, but Tate's hands were on it when they touched the ground. Technical he had not established possession until that point. That's what I read on nfl.com I think?

It should have been an interception probably.

That was brilliant. We agree on something. Unless you were being facetious.

Do teams now need to win by 2 touchdowns to "earn" a victory? While the Packers played poorly, they still scored more legitimate points than the Seahawks. That's the beauty of the NFL, style points don't matter.

I figured it was time for the serious discussion on this topic to come to its rightful conclusion.
