Safely arrived in Sao Paulo.  I think I can say, without fear of contradiction, Sao Paulo has the scariest rush hour traffic in the world.  The scooters ride the white line between cars at high speed.  Saw two ambulances on the ride from the airport.  We were not involved.

I am actually having a pretty decent day.  It is quiet in the lab,  it is Friday, and I have a concert to go to tonight.  So yeah I'm good.

I am sad that Geoff Tate is not with them though.  I used to have a crush many many many moons ago but not so much lately.  He has not aged all that well.

Bad azz! Are you still doing some competitive weight lifting? 

I don't have anything on deck right now but there are a few competitions I am looking at going to in the summer.  Right now is sprint racing season for rowing so I am reffing most weekends for the next 2 months so not much time for competition.

And you do you have any races coming up?  You know I want to grow up to run just like you!

eta OK I don't really want to grow up but I do want to run like you.

I have been boning up on earthquakes.  The science is fascinating and it's been fun learning about it.  I think it will take a turn to boredom when I have to pick apart building code requirement and design for them.

Did you know we get THOUSANDS of earthquakes a year and at least one a year that's of such a sever magnitude it would rival the one in San Fran in 1906?  They just happen where there are no people/cities.

Oh, very cool! I think rowing would be amazing. I think I am a little too short though. I guess I could be the lady in the back barking out orders.

I just have the Boston Marathon in 3.5 weeksish. Don't think I will do anything in between now and then.

Well, I wouldn't mind being able to lift heavy things like you. With our powers combined ...
