Master 3870 | Subject: RE: Game of Thrones - BOOKS Discussion (Spoilers) matt3liv - 2013-04-09 8:41 AM Alright, I had to go back and read part of book 5 last night. I thought Jon Snow died after rallying the troops to go to Hardhorne with (forgot his name) so he could go back to Winterfell. He suffered at least three wounds. I think the first was a slash to the neck, then a dagger in the gut, and then a stab in the back. Then he blacked out and the chapter ended. While Jon is/was my favorite character, I'd love to see him live through it, but I can't see him living without supernatural "support". Just now, I remembered that Lady Melissandre may be able to breath life back into him. This completely changed my perspective on the issue. Could Jon and Mellissandre go to Winterfell together? Oh man, now I really can't wait to get book 6 ..... Ohhhhh! I just read the part where Ghost walks right up to Melissandre and licks her. Jon is shocked. She's trying to coax him to accept her help to save Arya (who isn't really Arya) from her marriage. But he doesn't want to be "indebted" to her. The last words in the chapter, "And come that day, take my hand. Take my hand, and let me save your sister." Then left hanging. I don't think he will ask it for himself if he won't accept her help for someone else. But...would she do it without his consent? I've got some reading to do today!

The fact that you guys like him and think he's not dead is exactly why I think GRRM would kill him off. He loves doing that. |

Did we ever get a POV from Caetlyn? |

I didn't think about that either ... then he can hang our with Nymeria. She has a posse'.
I vaguely remembering someone talking about the human warg's body dying. If they are warged into an animal at the time, do they stay there, or do they die? |

Now, she did stated that since going to The Wall her powers were getting stronger, so maybe she can bring someone back from the dead. And she does make Mance Ryder (? spelling) look like the "bones" guy (can't remember his name) to fool everyone. I can see him going into Ghost's body. OH! Do the rest of you think that they are all warg's... the ones with the direwolves? I think they are, but not all of them have tapped into being a warg. |

Master 2356 Fenton, MI | Subject: RE: Game of Thrones - BOOKS Discussion (Spoilers) I'm not sure about all of the children being Wargs, but it does make me think that Jon and Arya are truly blood related. There are some rumors going around that Jon is actually Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark's son. Arya and Jon are supposedly the only one's with Stark-like features. Jon could have gotten them from Lyanna or Ned. http://awoiaf.westeros.org/ Careful, you could lose a day or two chasing down theories here.... its been incredibly helpful picking up all kinds of lost details that I lost when reading the books. Robb was close with Greywind, but Sansa lost Lady fairly early in the series. I would have thought that Robb would have made a bond. Not so much with Sansa. |

Master 2356 Fenton, MI | Subject: RE: Game of Thrones - BOOKS Discussion (Spoilers) Sansa had Lady for a while in the book, but it was portrayed as a short time in the series. However, in that short time, she went from a pup to at least a 90 pound animal in that time.... |

I don't think Rob or Sansa were wargs because John didn't start having dreams of ghost until after ghost wandered-off and he didn't even know what a warg does. Brand had dreams of being Summer when he was in a coma. |

The Starks have been in the north since the beginning and so far it seems only people from the north have the connections to the ways of the sight and wargs. |

I agree that the bloodlines of the First Men seem to have the abilities, but he could have gotten it from Ned's sister Lyanna Stark. That was my point. |
