Champion 7821 Brooklyn, NY | Subject: RE: Election 2016 There's a good (and somewhat less partisan) article on the 538 about the different ways Latino/Hispanic voters are accounted for in polls, and how the way they're accounted for can make a big difference. One method showed Hillary/Bernie being in nearly a dead heat in CA, which lots of news outlets were reporting, while another method of capturing Latino voters generated numbers much closer to the actual primary results. http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/hispanic-voters-will-decide-ber... |

Master 2802 Minnetonka, Minnesota | Subject: RE: Election 2016 Originally posted by tuwood I'm not familiar with the methodology of the "Big Data" poll so it's just another data point of many, but I did find the article interesting: The thing I found most interesting was how Trump and Clinton are virtually identical in their support/dislike. That's a really big deal because Hispanics overwhelmingly vote Democrat in past elections. I think Romney got something like 25% of the Hispanic vote in 2012. Their methodology is proprietary and, as they say, "mines digital discussions of people across all digital channels to mine social cultural intelligence." I would say take that load of crap with a large grain of salt if used in forming an opinion of how Trump stands with Latinos. |

Pro 9391 Omaha, NE | Subject: RE: Election 2016 I'm scratching my head on this one. What would be the purpose of the White House confirming that Clinton is under a criminal investigation the same day Obama endorsed her? Obama is a master politician, so I don't think this was a slip of the tongue and was intentional.

If Earnest had called the investigation anything else, they would have been accused of trying to down play and influence the Justice Department. If the FBI is investigating, its a criminal investigation. Not all criminal investigations end in criminal charges and many end with a finding that no crime had been committed. |

Master 2802 Minnetonka, Minnesota | Subject: RE: Election 2016 This just blew me away a little bit. Not the greatest poll, but to even have it close in Kansas??? Poll shows Clinton leading in Kansas; broad dissatisfaction with Legislature Posted by Peter Hancock June 10, 2016 at 10:26 a.m. Kansans are overwhelmingly dissatisfied with their state government and their choice of presidential candidates, according to a new poll released Friday. But when given a choice between the two parties' presumptive nominees, a plurality (43-36 percent) said they prefer Democrat Hillary Clinton to Republican Donald Trump, while 21 percent are currently undecided. If those trends hold through November, it would mark a historic shift in Kansas politics, where no Democratic presidential candidate has won Kansas since 1964, when Lyndon Johnson carried it over Barry Goldwater, 54-45 percent. - more - ..... |

But, it's not a complete poll, because it only included 2 of the 3 candidates who are going to be on the ballots in all 50 states. Any poll that doesn't include Gary Johnson at this point is intentionally trying to keep the voters in the dark so the R's and D's can maintain their oligarchy.

I've seen a lot of press about the electoral map being shaken up this year. There are a few traditional liberal states that are polling good for Trump and this is the first one I've seen towards Hillary, but it can certainly happen. |

My wife and I were in Northern California this past week and there were plenty of people wearing Bernie shirts, hats, buttons, etc. I overheard two of them talking and one was convinced that Bernie was still going to win California. |

Champion 10157 Alabama | Subject: RE: Election 2016 So how should Hillary respond to the FBI findings? So far she has been silent....not a word, not an interview not a press conference.....just a tweet that says, "Ok, this is over, lets move on." or something to that effect. Will that be enough for the Bernie supporters who were hoping she be indicted so Bernie would become the nominee? Should she come continue to deny and say "I didn't know this stuff was classified" or "I had handlers read my email and I never saw them". |

I think she's doing the best she can do by simply ignoring it and hoping it all goes away. The FBI didn't do her any favors by going through the areas where she lied so that will echo on for a while and as I mentioned in the other thread could lead to fresh perjury charges, or at least an investigation. I've got a lot of friends who were really upset that Hillary didn't get charged, but I honestly think it's the best thing that could happen for the Republicans. I still feel very strongly that she's a far weaker candidate than Bernie or Biden, especially for a guy like Trump. Also, the obvious special treatment plays right into Trumps hand when it comes to the system in Washington being corrupt. |

Very good point! I agree Biden would be a much stronger candidate.....not so sure about Bernie. I heard last night she has not held a press conference yet this year. So yeah, maybe she will just keep quiet and hope it blows over. She needs to start working on how she will respond to Trump when he brings it up during the debates. |
