My family is very sick now. My son was home last week with me sick, now my husband and daughter are home sick I'm just taking care of them and trying to get my work caught up. I am feeling about 80% better, I tried to walk and run Sat.,I don't think it was a good idea, I started feeling bad again, so I think I will start back wednesday. Thank God my office is attached to my home, I take care of business and family at the same time.

I am ready to get started back, never realized how great it is to be healthy and I want to do everything I can to stay that way. I was supposed to run a 5k in Louisville, KY this weekend, I'm just going to see how I feel, and I wouldn't push it, just have fun.

Miss talking to everyone, thanks for your concern Breezy,Helen,Joe, Desty and all.......much apprecitated.

I'LL BE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi gang....sorry I disappeared...I hurt my foot last week...thought it might be broken, but it seems ok now. I can flex it again & doesn't hurt to walk...just a briuse now. Work stress got the better of me too....but,I am still employed, even if others aren't.....now I can see the light again! I find it really hard to do much but work & sleep under that amount of stress....it wasn't much fun at all. The weather hasn't helped much either...this is one of the longest cold spells I can remember here...but even that is supposed to be over tomorrow.

Of course, no real workouts this last week...so my goals flew out the window. I will do what I can this week and start fresh next week.

Thanx for the support!

I too have been a little off this week. Had a pooly timed storm come in along with a lack of motivation at the begging of the week. Thus lots of non training, but I did put in 15 hours of snow plowing yesterday. I think it was the longest I have plowed for only 6 inches of snow. Boy I hate storms that come in at morning rush. It is bad for the commuters, but we will be cleaning up for 3 days now. Oh well. Back to the grind by Sat, after I catch up on my beauty sleep

Helen,

I'm glad to hear the foot is not broken.
I feel for you having the stress, it plays havic with mind and body. I hope you can get back in the swing of things this coming week, it is hard, but you feel so much better. I just got started back this week and I know it helps me mentally, the goals are in site again. I'm am like you and I'm ready for spring, or a trip to some place warm.

Take care of yourself and I will be checking in this week with you...

Well Joe I guess our group has been in a slump, but we are ready to hit it again... That is what a group is for the keep encouraging and building up when others are week time to time. I know I have been very uplifted from words of encouragment from you and everyone. Well I know you have had bunches of streets to clear lately and have been working overtime, but maybe it will give you a break this week. Hang in there.

Amy

I think we need to institute a rule that even if you can't workout you should check in and blog every day. We can't help motivate each other if we have no idea what's going.

I agreee. I have not been the best at getting around to everyone more than once a week, but it is hard to say much with a bunch of white. Lets put something down each day to say we were here. I will work on being better at keeping up with all your day to day work and as always here to ansure any questions that might be bugging you. BTW, I might recomend that everyone read my article on the 5 minute rule of training.

Got my log caught up. So far so good, my workouts are going well. The closer the Tri comes the more excited I get the harder I train so as to not make a fool out of my self. All in all I can't complain except about the weather.

Just think, we are now almost 2 full months into the year and still logging workouts! The whole idea of getting groups together is to keep going, and we are doing it together! I am so proud of all of you and finding ways to keep going.

Just so everyone knows. I was running with my husband yesterday and did 3 miles. I told him thanks for going with me because it kept me going. He said; Ha, it wasn't me...it was your mentor group, you know they are watching your logs to make sure your working out He said it is the wrath of the group that made you go.....ha I said, YOUR RIGHT!!!!!

Thanks group.

YOU GUYS ARE MY WITNESS.
I just made a decision to lose 15 lbs by April 6th, that gives me six weeks. I start today.

Why you say? I just looked at some pics of me 11/2 years ago, 15 lbs lighter and I looked stronger and healthy, and I know 15 less pounds to my body will make me a faster runner, and my goal is to run our hometown 5k this year in 28 something, that 5k is really a big one and it's in June. I "will" be ready. I finally have gotten back my desire to be the best me, good feeling.

You guys have really helped me.

THANKS!

Amy

Great job with the run!

FYI - Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds a week (not counting water weight) so howbout we say 10-15 pounds of weight loss in 6 weeks or 15 pounds in 8 weeks for you? Your group wants you to be healthy!

I finally pushed through my first weight barrier with in the last week. Since I started training in November with running, then started serious tri training in December, I have dropped from 205lbs to 184lbs. The doctors have taken me off my BP meds and told me to keep up the good work. My family has benefited also from my eating healther.

I have to thank everyone here for the encourageing words and the accountiablity to keep up the work outs. Also for being an inspiration to get me in the pool again swimming, I have even taken the lifeguarding pretest and passed, but had to back out because of the expence right now, but there is always next time.

Wow! Everyone is doing so well...good job everyone....and thanx for the words of encouragement. Been a very stressful time lately.....but I met with my ironman partner this afternoon & we've agreed to keep tabs on each other to get us going. She's gone through similar things (personally) so it was nice to sit down with her for a bit today & chat. I'm sure you can guess about what...although we still have hope for mankind The work stress, well, we all have that, so I shouldn't whine anymore.

I'm sorry I brought the monthly work out totals down....and wasn't very talkative.

Ok....I've lost a couple of pounds (stress hahahaha). But my goal is to lose about 15-20 pounds. Weighed in at 144.5 today, so I'm happy with that especially since my scale weighs heavy compared to others, so probably at 142 or so I've been fluctuating up & down...some days 150, some days 148.5 or 146...but lately I haven't gone over the 150 marker, so that must mean I'm down a bit. I know I look fantastic at 125 so I should shoot for that. I'll be happy with 130. I hafta lay off the chocolate, chips and um, beer.

There's a half marathon in April so I think I'll sign up for that. Just for a little boost.

Alrighty...looking forward.....

Have a great weekend everyone!
H

a quick suggestion to the group. I have been on the site long enough to realy get a kick out of using the graph options available. I tend to look back over the last 14 months at my weight and training volume by months at a time. They give me a pretty good idea of trends. What I am suggesting is that now that all of you have at least 2 months on BT, use the graph option by weeks, and if that dose not seem like much, by the day for the time you have been here. I like the weeks for short periods of time, just to see the numbers in a little bit "smoother" way. When I look at the daily, all I see is a bunch of peaks and valleys, but longer samples show more of ebbs and flows. So give it a try and let me know what you think

Ok, this realy did not work last month, but we shall try again. I am proposing a challenge to all who accept. I am thinking this month should be a run challenge, with a bike and swim challenge the next two months. You choose milage a time goal. I will attempt to post how everyone is doing at the end of each week. So let me know what you are looking for for a goal and we will all push each other!

OK... Of course everyone knows I'm in for the challenge.

I will do 14 miles per week 2-3 mile days, 1-2 mile day and one long run on weekend 6 miles.

I will do 14 miles per week - for the Month will be 56 miles, that will be the most I have ever done consistently.

56 miles in March.....

Wow, a run challenge! Hmmm...That would FORCE me to run outside since I have a hard time getting on the treadmills. Hmmm....Either a swim or bike challenge would have been EASY! A run challenge is a REAL challenge for me...

I'm gonna have to put some thought into this...unless I just jump on the 56 mile bandwagon

Ok, I have done the numbers. Looks like I am good for 80 miles this month. The month is actulay calling for 84 miles, but I think I need a little cussion, since I have not met a month of trainings goals yet this year.  Ok, Ready, Set....oh yeah, we are still missing CC's prediction for himself.
