swishyskirt - 2010-02-17 5:46 PM Wow. All that talk about the yellow water and now people discussing how many mouthfuls of it they swallowed. LOL. Ew... That's a good tip, though, letting 2 mins pass before starting. I will probably do this, as I'm not trying to qualify for anything except bragging rights for finishing. In most tri's, I tend to seed myself towards the right anyway. Recently, I've found myself overtaking a few folks who improperly seed themselves. Which is a fun and totally pointless ego boost. I'm not super fast, but then again, I also don't want to be stuck behind super slow swimmers either because it's hard to hit your stride when you have to keep swimming around/over people. Do you think 2 mins is a reasonable time to wait for someone who can (hopefully) maintain a just-below-2-mins-per-100-yd-average in open water? Less? More? Do you feel most folks at IMLP seed themselves properly?

I wouldn't tell what the fish do in it.  Surprised

You could wait even a little longer like 5 mins.  As Jenn said swim way right.

quiet around here......everyone must be training...

DC is off-line, "resting" (dude, that's what October was for)

Jorge, $hit, either he is truly going to come in under the radar and is totally sandbagging his logs, or Surprised.....

At least PS is running lots, but get on the bike already....

Tasr is holding strong and steady, with some nice consistent training, but too much shoveling for a week or so....at least you didn't add "shoveling" as a sport with 400 minutes worth.

GSP, AKA "2 N Jenn," I cant see her logs, but hopefully Jorge has her busier than he is....

Jazz looks solid, again, at least jorge is keeping her busy....

Marv seems to be drinking and chasing the ladies more these days than training, but having a lot more fun than all of us...

who am I missing....Bryan is consistent...wait, he's not going to LP, his A race is not until October, no wonder he's so freaking fast....dude, call DC, he's got some rest tips for ya....

ADD:  Jackjack is solid....steady, solid and consistent.....really cant say much there, expect she lives in rochester....though I guess that is OK since the city delivered Wegmans.

OK....an IM rookie talking smack like this should get things going around here.....Smile

on a serious note, have a good weekend and train hard LPers!

you've clearly got too much time on your hands - get on your bike and off our logs!  But thanks for the summary, saves me checking.
I'm busy refereeing my kids who are off school this week and that makes training a bit trickier I can tell you - especially with weekends and evenings taken up by hockey (kids not me)
No complaints or comments about shovelling here - it's what I do many mornings as routine (big southern wussies!)

Oh and by the way come July 26th you're going to call me "smoking" rather than "solid and steady"   (well for a middleaged girlie anyway!)

gopennstate - 2010-02-17 4:36 PM I never once felt like I was fighting or position or space.  In fact, for the draft factor, I wanted to be close to others.  If you are in front of me, i seek out blue helixes & i tap toes with my fingertips like crazy...SORRY!  But of course I'm going sub-1 hour on the swim, so that won't be any of you.  Except Jazz, little ringer.

I am just curious if smacking you on the butt when we come out of the water is an appropriate thank you for pulling me the entire race?

Just let me know because I will be well rested coming out of the water.

If that's the case, I think I eclipsed your run total for the year.  I did a LOT of chasing.   Catching...well, perhaps.

Crap I walk away from the internet to train and I get bashed, but hey thanks for bumping the thread.

Bryan the only way you’re getting away with swimming so much is because those slits behind your ears are gills.  Wink

Yes please.  And in addition i would like you to have 3 beers ready for me at the finish line.  I drink beer 1 day out of 365 and that is at IMLP.  If it happens to be a cold rainy day then lets make it hot cider with capt in it.

But you seriously think you can hang with THIS?
