Shame you cant get to do the race you want... but fingers crossed you DO get to race

I think she allowed it cause my husband kayaked for the swim practice and the Rocketts race when she was desperate to get kayakers.  Having famiy volunteet in a pinch comes in for a little everage (though I did NOT play that card with her!)

Doesnt really matter why she did it... its great she did!

Positive Karma.....I loaned my wetsuit and a bathing suit style tri suit to my friend Susan and the girl from Starbucks is borrowing Sweet Mama for Pink Power this weekend....my gear is doing the races I can't.

Wow you must have some awesome karma coming your way!

Are you going to be able to go watch even though you cant race?

Normally I would go, but my niece in NC is coming up for the weekend with her husband and baby to see her sister (the one stationed at the Army base near me) so I will be up to my eye balls in famiy.

If you want to go get a glass of wine or something after they leave, let me know.

A (the one stationed here) is generally low maintenance....N (the one coming up w/ her husband and toddler) is about 10 weeks pregnant with #2 child....never met her husband or baby.....Miss Thing wants her boyfriend to come over tomorrow night....I need to have her help limp through the grocery store tonight!!

It looks as though I may be off running for up to 12 weeks if I am correct in my diagnosis for my leg issue.....I think it's at least a partially torn calf muscle.....see ortho on Tuesday.....sigh.....can I get a do over on this season?

Allergy testing is done.  It sucks.  I'm not allowed to eat nuts anymore as I had positive reactions to peanuts, hazelnuts, and almonds.  He said I shouldn't have nuts at all because of cross contamination.

Aw, bummer. I can't eat tree nuts, but I can have peanuts, at least.

I thought that allergies were supposed to get better as you get older, but I think mine are getting worse. *sigh*

Yeah, it's annoying.  I'm going to really miss peanut butter and nuts.  Someone suggested sunflower butter or tahini instead.

Not necessarily.  Food allergies are something you can't "tolerize" - think allergy shots - so they don't generally change.  It's annoying.  But, at least no allergy shots for me.

You have!  Although I was at work for 11 hours today, so I'm not much better.

I have tummy issues admittedly but I still reckon Im more sensitive to foods than I was 5-10 years ago...

I find Im more sensitive to medications and stuff too!

I was there for 14 hours yesterday. "Only" 12 today though.....

Pretty soon, we won't be eating anything at all.

Except sugar. I'm not allergic to sugar. Maybe I need to be on a sugar diet.

You know, I've cut out so many foods that you think I'd lose some weight, but nooooooooooooo.

Wait, maybe it's because I AM on an all-sugar-all-the-time diet?

I think everyones working too hard...

I get enough allergy shots for both of us!
