There are times that I wish my bike had a kick stand! I like your bike a lot, and everyone knows red bikes are faster

Thanks Tom. I hope to have a few more pics when my mom is home from her stint at the hospital.

Quick question tomorrow I have a transition practice workout that goes like this
8 x (R 4:00, B:10:00, R 4:00)
I get that but I don't get is what are you suppose to do between the last 4:00 run and the first 4:00 run of a set? Do I just run 8 minutes?

I just read it as well Julie! You do a nice job with your blog!  You will conquer that hill, keep at it!  You had a great race!

Good luck with your mom, I hope everything works out ok!

I have had this workout come up a time or 2 and what I do is a recovery walk of 2 or 3 minutes to recover before going hard on the next one.  Not sure if that is the intent, but it didn't make sense to me to do it 8 minutes straight.  It is actually a pretty fun workout as you can go hard since they are short, but at the end you have worked hard!

Good luck and have fun Ice!! Do you have a goal for the race?

At least we get 70 degree water temp to go with the 90 degree forcasted temps!  It may turn into a swim/bike/run and then swim again!Smile

Goal is on testing nutrition.  Time wise, I haven't thought about it.   Water, moderate.  Bike, fast and hard.  Run, survive. In the heat, I suffer to the point that it's like having a governor on the motor when I run.   1650 in the water would be good at 32.  26 miles on the bike 2would be good at 75 mins (20 mph average).  Run would be good under 60.  With transitions, sub 3 hours would be fine with me in that heat.

Thanks! I will keep that in mind about winning the wheel set! Actually there is a gal on BT that came in 2nd a couple of years ago that skipped it and did IMLP last year but is coming back to musselman this year.  Maybe she'll get a set!

I will stop by and say hello to Gregg.

Those temps sound lovely! Have a great time guys!

We are Team Brendan Sunday I think I already posted. I will be the simmer, Ken my husband is biking and our 16 year old son Brendan is running. His girlfriend will be there so maybe he will run faster and not blow up! LOL We picked up our packet this afternoon #516. Also found out some friends from a past MG will be there racing in a relay so it should be a good time!

Quick race report (Today is a b-day party here for my wife and three grandkids who all share July 14-15 as birthdays.)

2:51 for the Olympic.   Time was down 20 mins over last year.

Swim was 35 mins for 1650.  Slower than I wanted by about 3 minutes.  2m11sec pace.

Bike was great.  22.3 mph for 25 miles.

Run was not so great.  10m15sec pace, 1:03.

Love racing.

Thanks Ken good seeing you too, the aid station was fun as always.  How was your race?  That swim was a bit rough on the way out, and despite the head wind I had a good bike.  No all concentration to next weekend.
