I DID get my run in this morning before work.  And I enjoyed it!  It really did feel good to get out and jog early in my day that way.  I may have to do that again.  Of course the hard part will be getting out the door, but it could happen.  Thanks for the encouragement!

Have a good weekend everyone!

Hi Amy!  thanks.

Did you get the winter storm down there yet?  Our snow is gone at least in the flatlands.  All we have left here is rain and some strong winds.  South of us there is flooding and north of us is ice storms and power outages, so I guess we have it pretty good.

Morning Ghouls.

The DH and I backed out of our race today. It is sloggy pouring rain. The temps are in the low 40s. The road is not closed to traffic. There are sections that have to be shoveld to keep the mud from being dangerous. I am just days feeling better. Someday I WILL do this race. Though, I am not fond of any type of race where at least one lane of traffic is closed for safety.

Morning Robin.  I believe that you and hubby made a wise decision.

Morning, Kendra.

I am REAL sure of it! I am so slow, I cannot imagine running an hour and a half along a road with traffic NOT seeing us and splashing cold road mud onto us and thinking that we are doing something good for ourselves.

Instead, I am getting chores done, sipping an extra cup of coffee and I'll hop on the dreadmill or trainer sometime today and be smug about being warm and dry.

I was just looking at a race in Knoxville. How far is that from you?

There are some good ones in Chatanooga as well. That would be closer for you I am sure.

Good Morning!  It's Saturday!!!!

rainy, a little windy, but in the 40s.  I don't know what I will wind up doing today.  I have a LOT that I SHOULD be doing.  For now, we slept in, drank coffee and watched out the window with the pups, and now have finished breakfast.  Nice.

Sounds good.  The race doesn't sound very safe in those conditions, and with you just getting better, I doubt that the cold and wet would help you out!

Knoxville is about 4 hours away.  Chatanooga is a little over 2 hours and would be much easier.  Of course, I could always come and do one in the Asheville area, and you could do one here.  I've got a guest room.

Good evening Ghoulies!

Another crazy day here. 4" of snow last night and a bit of ice on top. The kids had fun sledding this afternoon. Before basketball though, there was basketball. Follow along.

My daughter was supposed to have a game at 9:00 this morning. We got there just before 9, 5 of the 7 kids on my daughter's team were there, the other team never showed up. Her coach has a son in 8th grade, so the coach, his older son, and my son gave them 8 players. They played 4 v 4.

My nephew had a game at 10, so we stayed and watched him. There was a game at 11, the same age group as my daugher. The one team had all 8 players show up, the other team only had 4. They were going to play 4 v 4, but there would be no subs. My daughter ran across the gym and told the other coach she could play. The guy in charge was there and he said it was fine with him. The team she was on was really bad, they only scored 11 points, my daughter scored 5 of them.

At noon my son had a game. This was his first game ever (my daughter played last year). He scored 2 points and had several rebounds, and stole the ball on a few passes. He had a good time.

They will have basketball games every Saturday until the second week in March. Basketball and softball will overlap for my daughter, that should be fun.

It is never a dull moment.

On a different note: I am taking Wednesday off of work. I want to go for a swim, and a hike. It's my day. My husband told me today that he took the day off, too. He said he thought we could spend a couple of hours cleaning out the back part of the basement. I don't think so!

It's supposed to start snowing again sometime tomorrow evening.  I hope the worst is past you, and I'm glad you guys are safe and have power/heat!

Cleaning ANYTHING is NO way to spend your Birthday. See Amy's decree above!
