So I am official back to trying to workout (if you want to call it that), ran last night.  What is your guess here??

Before I had surgery I weighed about 150, after surgerey and recovery I lost 15 lbs, which I am guessing was muscle?  I am happy with how things fit and feel, and wonder with going back to S/B/R if I can avoid bulking up?

Perhaps a little of both. I don't think your body could ever bulk up. I bulk up and build muscle like a guy. I would think that you would put some muscle back on for sure. But in a lean and long weigh! And YAY For working out!

Even filling out my logs which makes me feel better too.

Good Evening Your Royal Hotness Yanti Doll, Treadmill Crusher, Taxi's Bane and Goddess of Erogenous Pyrokenisis.

YEEEEAH BABY YEAAAAH!

ALL HAIL THE HALLOWED HIGH PRIESTESS OF THE HEALING YET LEFT-HOOK HONEY HYPNOMELONS!!!

Um. So. Howsyer health?

Well I'm not dead yet and I don't have breast cancer so I'm good.

Everything else was about as expected, well I didn't expcet the lipid panel to be quite that bad.  Cholesterol is just shy of 300 as are my triglycerides and my HDL is in the low 30s.

Yikes. As I feared. Statin?

Yep back on the statins for me

I'll probably add in some niacin and some red yeast rice as well.

Ask the doc about Niacin + statins. DDI and such. Mine recomended against both simultaneously. But then again, not all statins are equal. Metamucil is another great one. It scrubs cholic acid before your liver has the chance to make cholesterol from it. It's the same mechanism which oat bran reduces it. Plus, the sheer volume of pewp is quite impressive.

I've tried the niacin + statin combo the niacin flushes in the middle of the night were unbearable.  I take a slow release niacin instead, I get fewer and less sever flushes that way.

TJ

I used to take lipitor without any problems maybe that will work for you.  When they first put me on Metformin (no not for type II diabetes) a number of years ago.  I had the same problems with fatigue and muscle aches and increased heart rate after I had been on it for a short while.  I went from working out 2+ hours of cardio and lifting after work to barely being able to get across the hospital to my car after work.  I had to take the elevator up a floor cause I couldn't face trying to get up the stairs.  It turns out one of the rare side effects of metformin is Vit. B12 malabsorption, my b12 #s were trashed.  The malabsorption also persists after you quit taking the Met., which I did.  I now take metformin and I give myself B12 shots every 2 weeks plus I take a 5 hr energy pretty much daily to keep my B12 up.

Try the Metamucil. You'll have impressive flushes.
