IceManScott - 2011-07-17 9:21 AM Quick race report (Today is a b-day party here for my wife and three grandkids who all share July 14-15 as birthdays.)

2:51 for the Olympic.   Time was down 20 mins over last year.

Swim was 35 mins for 1650.  Slower than I wanted by about 3 minutes.  2m11sec pace.

Bike was great.  22.3 mph for 25 miles.

Run was not so great.  10m15sec pace, 1:03.

Love racing.

Great job Ice!  Tough to run in the heat!

Good race for me today, broke 6 hours after 2 other attempts that weren't even close with run temps well into the 90's!  Swim was ok, bike was good and the run considering the conditions was good too!

More once I am able to type without pain!

One other good thing! Got to spend some time with Jon (arrogant bastard) and Anthony (amshrod) from our group this weekend, so that was great too!

Ken, that was an amazing performance yesterday! Congratulations on breaking 6 hours on a very difficult day. I have to tell you folks, it was hot out there!

It was great to see you Ken, and Mike and Dud as well. After You and Mike went to the swim corral we ran into bob Stocks, too.

My race wasn't quite as good I don't do well in the heat so I really melted down on the run, and finished 50 minutes slower than my HIM PR. When I signed up for the race, I knew it would very likely be a hot one, but I was hoping I would luck out and we would get a cooler day maybe with some rain. Wouldn't you know, today it's raining here.

I love the bike...with a 60 on my leg passing every young thing I can.    Am I bad?

Course, I see half of them on the run again :/  But still, it's fun!

I'm finally back but playing catch up on a lot of things. Looks like everyone has had some great races recently!

I sort of fell off the face of the earth for a few days while we were away. I didn't get any training in last week I was way too tired to even think about it. I'm slowly trying to get back up to speed and refocus my training plans.

Nice work to all who have been racing recently.  I am inspired by you all.

My race is in just under 5 weeks.  I've not been training as much as I'd like, but I did a brick last Sunday and plan to do another one this Saturday.  In 2 weeks, I have an OWS/dress rehearsal.  It helps living so close to the race location.  I will have practiced the course before the actual event.

Keep up the good work everyone! Laughing

Nope, you aren't bad. I feel the exact same way. I love passing people but know I will be seeing most of them again.

Hey guys thanks for the well wishes I am super stoked and definitely made me smile reading these things on the boards.

A little info if you guys want to follow along

My bib number is 966 for the athlete tracker.

I will also be wearing a GPS chip that you can find on www.myathletelive.com and you can click on my name under events and lake placid (Jon Gdovin)  This gives my map position and speed.

I will post up a mini report to tell you all my fun stories

One of my favorite part of doing an IM is the atmosphere at the race site for several days leading up to the actual race!  It is a lot of fun to be surrounded by everything Ironman and triathlon!  Enjoy the whole experience Jon!

I am flying to the west coast on Sunday, but I will definately check in on you doring the layovers!
