Subject: RE: TAN #160: Just farTAN' around as usual ...Kido - 2012-02-08 3:57 AM Bah, unemployment benefits are running out/decreasing. Still no work. Wife is suggesting I become a casino/hotel manager since sI have "management" experience. I don't think she get's it. Or I don't. One of us don't get it. I don't think just becuase I was a "manager", I can just walk into any "management" job without understanding of the job. Her world is freelance and she just finds random gigs/jobs all the time and I guess she thinks I should be able to do the same? But I'm an engineer, and that's my specialty. I'm not sure if I could manage a casino/hotel/whatever... Um ... I think you get it just fine. Hospitality is definitely its own specialized field. You are a great manager, no doubt, because you're smart, responsible, and good with people ... and there are a lot of fields that would overlap with your management experience, like most corporate jobs, many tech type jobs ... but as I said, hospitality is its own thing. Good luck, Gym ... you've had so much on your plate. |
