I can't stop thinking how grateful I am that my two kids are home safe. If they want to jump in bed tonight with mom and dad, they are totally invited. 6yrs and 2yrs old. Sad news all over TV and if I go to the YMCA and run on the treadmill it will be on all the televisions. My heart hurts today. Most of you know I'm a cop and have been for 17 years. I've seen alot of horrible things that have happened to people but when it happenes to children it really takes a toll on me. Hope you all have a great weekend and hug those little ones. |

It's so easy to decouple the images of SWAT officers actually being not cartoon superheroes, but men and women with families, children and bucolic lives at home. Biochemistry is a pretty insignificant life pursuit sometimes. |

I have worked on children and seen some ugly things as an EMT and I have had a child die in my arms. It leaves a mark on your heart an on your soul. |
