My initial goal for the month has fallen apart since planks started causing me difficulty. I've decided to revamp my goal so that I'm challenging myself and not restricted to any particular exercises. Instead of just core I am going to complete any strength exercises. Because of this I'm going to increase my time required as well. I would switch to sessions but since we're already 1/3 through the month I'll leave it be. If I do another challenge next month I will do run + strength sessions, bike or swim.

I don't want to give the impression that I'm not challenging myself. This is my first challenge and I've done a poor job setting up my goals (too restrictive).

There are 20 days left in the challenge and I have 40min of my goal 120min plank/core completed. I'm going to increase my goal to 600min of any strength training exercise of choice. Again, I know that using minutes at this point is silly, but I'm keeping consistency.

GO TEAM BT!

PS - Bill, I see you trying to catch up with our post count! Smile

They seem to. But not all. My DH gets along well with my Mom. Better than I do, matter of fact. I am not a huge fan of his Dad.  But I can deal with him.

It is difficult to figure out goals when you first start. That, and sometimes, things just don't work out like they should. I learned I cannot do regular pushups or planks because of toe and wrist injuries. Unfortunately I learned that in a challenge!

givemashot - 2010-10-11 1:33 PM Okey doke. I have a nurse meeting at work. I get to hear all about breastfeeding, so I can answer questions from the patients. You know, the patients with newborns who come in to the urgent care clinic with breastfeeding questions at night. There's tons of them. Like maybe one every 2 years. And I've never had any education about breastfeeding and how to help a new mom. Nope not once in 10 years of nursing. suppose I should just be happy I don't have to sit and listen tot alk about routine immunizations for an hour. We aren't allowed to give anything other than a tetanus shot and maybe the occasional flu shot in after hours clinic becuase most insurance companies won't pay us to do them. Apparently they want the primary care physicians to do them, LOL. Fine by me. I hated doing them when I used to work during the day. Some day my boss will decide it's ok for the night-time nursing staff to have their own nurse meetings. Until then, she will continue to pay me to sit and be bored.

Wow, didn't mean to go off like that. Sorry! Have a good afternoon gouhlies!

Wow Amy - I think that is the first vent you have had in 1+ years!!!

Enjoy your training - if that is possible

Rant on Amy~

I get along - but that is a far cry from wanting to spend 1 week in The Villages with my wife's whole family.  I would much rather pay $600 for a party and only suffer for 2-3 hours to be honest with you!

Can you lie and say you already spent money on a party?

I feel the same way about my Brother and SIL. I can stand them for VERY short periods. When I take my Mom home I go to the beach, take walks, run, ride bikes. All things they don't do. Keeps us all sane!

Hello Ghoulies!

Did some running around with the kiddos this morning. Did some napping this afternoon. I'm worn out. I'll go back and catch up in a little bit.

ceilidh - 2010-10-11 12:14 PM It is spectacularly beautiful today and I am inside looking at it. When I get off work I have a looonnngg meeting tonight. Yucko.

Aren't you feeling a cold coming on????

Skip the meeting!!!

I'd love to but it is a town meeting that I am part of. It only meets once per month and the guy who is leading it just lost his wife (came home and she was dead- he is 47!!!) If he can show, I gotta show.

Sorry about your friend, Robin.

No because my wife wants to go!

Maybe there could be some outstanding warrants for you in Florida. No way you should risk crossing the border.
