ebshot - 2009-06-30 8:22 AM Morning guys.  I'm sick.  Stupid cold.  I tried to get up to run this morning and couldn't pick my head up off my pillow.  I'll try to get out later today.     But, on the upside, I did already reach my original goal of 30 miles, this is my second increase.  Sooooo, hopefully, I'll be good to go by tonight!

You are having a rough time lately!  I think your body might be telling you it needs some rest.  You pushed it hard.

Rest, stay hydrated and get better fast!

Running 6.34 miles in a 60+ mile relay around Mt. Desert Island in Bar Harbor, ME.  Camping before and after, and hoping to get a swim in somewhere in Acadia Nat'l Park and potentially going to ride a chunk of the relay that I won't be running.

Oh, and buying some fireworks that're illegal in Massachusetts to bring home and set off for Bastille Day

Since I'll be at the lake, I'm thinking there should be an OWS practice since, um, I really need it!

Then my husband and I will be selling popcorn at the town BBQ (my mother was nice enough to volunteer us) and watching the parade.  After the sun goes down we'll take the boat out to watch the fireworks.

I'm pretty sure pina coladas will be worked into the schedule somewhere as well.

The family and I are headed to my aunt and uncles in PA.  I plan to sit by the pool and drink while the kids play in the pool (and hopefully don't drown) and Bryan is thinking about going kayaking.  No plans for fireworks but I am up for whatever!  I love the 4th of July.

Ugh... I would pass out in mid-swim in those temps.  Can they just dump some ice in there before you have to swim?

And here I am hoping our water temps warm up into the 70s.  90 is like swimming in a hot tub!

How do you know if you are sweating or getting dehydrated on a swim?

Oh yeah, then I have a sprint the next day 500m OWS (same lake) - 12mi bike - 5k run.  Maybe my family will come out to watch one or both!

Heading home to see the family.  My little sister, who has been living in San Diego for the past 6 months, is moving back.  I'm super excited to see her.

I also have a 10 year high school reunion that I may or may not go to.

I just ate half a bag of carrots and most of a head of red leaf lettuce.  Still hungry.   Harumph.
