Moldy produce - ugh.
I've decided I won't buy salad ingredients anymore. I will spend $5 for a lunch salad at the work cafeteria a few times a week over buying $10+ of salad ingredients and forgetting about them in my fridge. Works out much better for me.

Fruit I will remember to eat most of the time, but I buy it in VERY small amounts. Like 2 bananers, or 2 nectarines, or dump out half the bag of cherries/grapes into another before putting it in my cart.

I made the mistake (or RE learned) that Sam's club fruit is hit or miss.  I don't think you can tell how long it's been there.  A regular store rotates through it faster.

I bought a big container of strawberries that looked ok in the store, but when I got home.  Spoiled.  They had dozens of bags of oranges that I could see rot IN them at the store!  The container of raspberries lasted 5-6 days, but were bad when I opened them up.

Sometimes though, some fruit will last a 10-12 days in a fridge.  Other times, only a few.  I just forget it's there since it's not on my regular meal plan.  Maybe I should add it.

Been there done that ... so much wasted, especially when I'd buy at the Sam's or Costco.  Now I just go to the grocery store 3x's a week and get enough produce for two days .. 90% of what I eat is produce but at least it gets consumed and is fresh when I put it in my piehole!

I do HATE going to the store that much but I drive right by it on the way home from the gym so I just do it!

i hate going to the grocery store after the gym because i just want to buy and immediately eat everything in sight!

Kido - 2012-08-02 11:17 AM I realize it's just kids having fun and trying to impress each other about the "cool thing they did" by not respecting anyone.  But it turns me into a cranky old man that hates teenagers.

i just don't remember throwing stuff at people being impressive or fun.  i mean, i've thrown plenty of stuff at my own friends hanging out having fun...but just driving by a random dude and chucking some garbage out of my car?  that makes ZERO sense.

Yeah, I don't get it...  Or see the joy in it.

I've done it. It was fun when I was 15 and stoned.

I NEVER did anything directly to a person.  Couldn't.

I think the worst thing I feel comfortable talking about in TAN is one night, I was hanging with a new group of friends who apparently went on mailbox destruction binges.  I taged along and ended up destroying someone's nice mailbox.

As a home owner NOW, I realized I cost that guy a couple hundred bucks and aggrivation and time to fix it and I feel aweful.  But at the time, I guess there was a rush of doing something bad and running away and fitting in with a group of "bad" kids.

My little brother said he used to go out with friends and break car windows.  He feels terrible not about it knowing how expensive that is.

Sometimes I wish Karma was real.  And better yet, when you get your payback?  Some kind of scorcard would tell you what it was for.  Like a voice in your head or if Karma sent you a letter each day summing up the day's tally.

I said something like this to a couple friends last night.

BT/TAN feels like an old married couple on vacation that's stuck in the hotel room because it's storming out.  Everyone knows everyone's stories, jokes, manerisms and just start knit picking at everything.  Things you just accept suddently are the most annoying things.  "Why do you have to chew so LOUD, damn you!".

I KNOW what half the people in CoJ are going to say about a topic.  And still get angry when I hear them say it.  Stupid of me.

I make it a point to go in the door that opens into the produce department.  Pick up a basket.  Go right to the stuff I need and go to the register.  Five minutes tops before I'm back in the car.  Still hard though ... you people have no idea how much I hate the grocery store.  HATE!!

Sometimes I envy the days prior to the maga marts.  You would buy the food for the day, every day, at the corner little market.  I like the selection of the megamarts, but stopping at the corner store to get fresh ingredients you are going to make THAT NIGHT sounds fun.  Fresh bread made that morning...mmmm

I love Penera!  But I don't go because the wife and I found local places that are a bit cheaper.  We always get surprised about how expensive it gets in there.

I can play on BT as my alter ego ... Brenda is her name.  She is a 60's housewife that just goes through her day cleaning and taking care of everyone .. but she drinks a lot.  I mean a lot.   That could shake things up, no?

Does she wear cardigans?

Only on paper.  She will never divorce, she took vows.  She will do her wifely "duties" when her husband comes home late from work, drunk, possibly just from spending time with his mistress .. which Brenda is okay with .. keeps him out of the house more.

Does she make a good sandwich?
