disturbed275 - 2010-04-08 6:14 PM So the decision to move my long run to today was a good one.  Last time I ran 11 miles was the day I injured my hip so it was nice to overcome that demon.

I celebrated by having a steak that was bigger than my head

Time for PT and SLEEP!

Yeah!! Neal, that is great to get by that bugaboo!!  I am glad that it went so well. Laughing

skrtrnr - 2010-04-08 6:18 PM ok.  well.  that went better than expected.

i just got back from the in law conversation....and....well....it went really well.

i kind of got the impression i wont mention him by name that there were going to be all sorts of issues, and there were none.

though.  i have to say that 'crafted' the conversation in such a way, from the very beginning (they said i could start, so i did) so that the focus was on the KIDS (as well it should be) rather than dredging up 19 years worth of issues (and what would be healthy or productive about that??)

both inlaws are ON BOARD w the whole MOM AND DAD MIGHT BE GETTING A DIVORCE, BUT WE'RE STILL A FAMILY concept were promoting w the boys...i was told by both of them that im STILL a welcome member of the family and will be included in all family gatherings, holidays, et al.

we all agreed that THIS is in the best interest of the kids.

so.  that.  settles.  that.

very easy peasy...strangely.

but i'll take it.

i guess i went into it apprehension cuz i was under the impression that were issues that they wanted to address.

i made room for them to address whatever, even if i was a gonna take a few 'hits to the head'  i was prepared and open....i did ask, 'are there any issues that would make it difficult for us to move forward?'

if there were any, they didnt care to mention them.  which in mind translates...speak now or forever hold your peace.

actually i told them if at any point there were issues they wanted/needed to discuss the lines of communication were always open and they could come to me at any point in time.  and i MEANT that.

they were both really, really nice to me.  not that they havent been in the past.  they've always been, its just....well the circumstances.....i didnt know what to expect.

not sure why that surprises me, but they were and i was and its all good.

i guess its true what ive been saying all along....

WE GET TO DECIDE HOW THIS ALL PLAYS OUT.

and if my (our) intention is that things are going to go a certain way, that certain 'tone' is going to be set - one of cooperation and good-will and mutual respect (because THIS is what children need to see modeled for them) then that's what dictates how things will move forward.

never underestimate the POWER of INTENTION.

that and the fact that i NEVER bought into the script that we have to be WARRING SIDES.  that we could move forward reasonably and amicably.

i even mentioned it to J. parents tonight, we actually have the potential of having a better relationship in the future seperate that we could've ever had together.  i really am hopeful for that.  though i dont have 100% control over that....never have....never will.

we'll just have to wait and see how THAT plays out.

Can I get in on this challenge?  I know its late but, my logs filled out and I think I've got plenty of time for meet these goals.  Ryan

Well our group is more of a group and less of a challenge. We have been together since we were put on the same challenge team in October. The group of us here just sort of clicked and have stayed together. Every month we pick a goal to work for, more or less. We are less interested in logs, and more interested in the spirit of each individual... and margarita's.

So we are less of a challenge group than the others. There is a Team A and Team B right now that are the actual challenge groups. I'm not sure what the platform is this month but if you contact D001 she usually runs the groups and could put you on a team if you ask.

The challenges generally start the beginning of the month. Usually the last week of a month you will see something here in the challenge forum about the next challenge.

Ann(e) - Ryan is one of our Mentees FYI

Ryan, do you mean the ironman challenge?? Sure...we are basically all just seeing how many full ironmans we can complete in a month...Neal has one down already...I'm done 2IM's worth of swimming and 1 run...and the bike is only halfway so far :S haha...We don't really keep track of one anothers mileage! Just let us know when you have completed an IM this month total! We trust you!....these challenges are just an excuse to stay together haha

the big monthy challenges are a bit different...and you would have to get ahold of D001 to get in on that action (this month is a four-is-more challenge...so swim, bike, run and one other thing of your own choosing!

I am behind by about 15 pages, LOL. I think I'm too tired to catch up though. Maybe tomorrow night? I have another day full of running errands/volunteering at the school/yadda yadda yadda to be here much during the day. (Now that I said that out loud I will suddenly be free for hours uninterrupted to chat with the east coast crew tomorrow, right? Isn't that how it works? A girl can always hope...).

SO. Nighty night Gouhlies! MWAH!!!
