Good news on the challenge front. I updated the spreadsheet and we are getting closer. We were less than 1% behind. Hopefully the Ghoulies aren't way behind on updating theirs or we will still be in trouble.

I'm still hoping to do 1 hour of strength tonight which will bring that component up 10% or so.

Got in my run last night. I went a little farther than was on the schedule to try to catch up and it sure felt good. I like running.

Way to go! Running is my favorite, but I'm still a work in progress.

Oh yes, it's that time again. Melissa is back with more work news... hahaha

This is it. No more changes or news to be had.

I turned down one this morning leaving space for the other two. I just got a call from the Monday trial work place and they want me! So I just sent an email to the one that I accepted the offer from thanking them for their time and explaining my decision. (We've been communicating via email.)

I gave up my free gym membership on-site to pursue a better opportunity. As a triathlete this was very hard, especially with winter coming - but it was the better choice.

<---- Employed.

Congrats! Wow, things have been coming together for you. Keep up whatever it is you're doing to make the good things happen and if you don't mind, let us in on the secret.

The secret...

Well, I'm don't seem to be wanted at all in the education field that isn't currently hiring. There are frequent postings asking for kinesiologists. My secret is that there are jobs waiting to be filled in my field. I've been told that I'm more qualified than many other applicants (further professional development and some work experience on top of my degree) so that's why the three jobs this week all wanted me. Apparently a lot of fresh out of university people are applying for jobs that want a little extra.

That bothers me though... People with experience only please - but where does one get the experience if most employers feel this way?

I'm mostly lucky that there is a demand in the field. Thank goodness!

For the most part our local economy isn't doing too bad. Unemployment is lower than average. There are jobs but they might not be the ideal job. I do feel bad for people trying to get into education in our area though. One of our local school districts let a bunch of people go last year (over 100 teachers if I remember right) so we have teachers with a lot of experience that are out of work so people trying to get into teaching that just graduated don't have a chance.

The people that were supposed to lock up Friday night forgot so our building was left open for the weekend. Oops! I'm usually the last one out so now I have access to a key and get to lock up before I head out.

The job I accepted and then denied wanted me to work most Saturdays...

I used to work every Saturday at a video store for over a year.

Trainer ride yesterday, treadmill run today.  Trudging along toward meeting my monthly goals!  Got a flu shot yesterday afternoon and my whole body is really sore today, especially the area where I got the shot.  Great job everyone on posting and training.  Keep it up!

Hiding from the outdoors already? Or you prefer indoor training?

That's a tough question.  I prefer outdoor training when the weather's nice, but don't venture out much when it's cold and/or rainy.  Since i'm in my offseason now, I'm kinda just being lazy.  Easier to jump on the trainer or treadmill rather than venture out.

My lunchtime ride wasn't quite what I was hoping for. I go to grab my shorts and I realized I don't have any in my cycling or running bags. I took all my stuff in to wash it and forgot to take it back out this morning. I did have a shirt in my running bag and didn't want to get behind so I went out in my running shirt and cargo pants. If it was a longer ride I would be in some pain right now but since it was only ten miles it wasn't too bad. I don't think I will have any problem remembering to put my clean stuff back in my bag tonight.

Just evaluated how I'm doing with my goals this month. I won't have any problem reaching my goal on the bike, even if I don't go out for a longer ride on Saturday.

Running isn't looking as good. I usually run every other day. I'm going to either have to step up all my runs or throw in a couple extra to make it. I'll get it one way or the other, it'll just take a little more work than usual.

We won't even talk about my third goal for the month, which is weight related and just isn't going to happen.
