You are a very bad influence.

In other thoughts, I've decided I'm doing IMTX in 2012, now I just need to get Shaun to agree.

See you there

Really really!!!

Very exciting.

carrie639 - 2011-02-24 2:07 PM Can you tell me how you got all 4 data points on the same screen at the same font size?  I have the 4 data points on the main screen but the HR is super tiny up in the corner.  Please spell is out like I am a child, I am a dork with this stuff.

Thanks

I am technically inept, but I will have Shaun post to explain.

My mistake... I was thinking you had the 305.

It doesn't appear that you can have 4 data fields. It looks like the best you can do is move the HR to the top field where you have larger text unless you want to manually cycle through the screens...

More info on your Garmin: http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2008/10/garmin-forerunner-405-in-depth-r...

Ohhhh.  I'm talking about the 310XT not the 405.

I got confused.

I'm so confused.... sorry!

Changing screens on your 305:

If you want the HR bigger, you'll have to go to fewer data fields.

That's the plan as of now.  It's only a 45 minute drive, and an easy highway one at that, from my house.  Can't really pass it up if I'm going to do one.

So, thinking about races for 2012 (and beyond) what are everyone's dream races (tri-running-biking-whatever) to participate in?

Mine in Kona 2012 (IMTX will be my KQ attempt).

Kona, my parents live in Miami so a 70.3 or full somewhere near them, something up north where the scenery is nice.  Maybe Quassy?  Then the international races intrigue me a lot.  I like the idea of one "destination race" a year that can double as a family vacation.

Need some feedback on how this looks as a logo and how it would look on the front of a tri jersey.

Base colors of the jersey, and website sponsoring, are black, grey and red.  Uni may be a black base so the black lettering may go gray.  It's a fitness focused/lifting site so I'm trying to keep it as "alpha" as possible.

It's likely due to the file type and being enlarged, but the shadowing is KILLING my eyes. It's like looking at a 3-d pic/film without the glasses.

Beyond that, I like the logo.

A lot will depend on my first Oly attempt this year, personally (and finances of course).

Can you move the word racing down just a hair-and tilt it more at an angle to the letters MFF. I think tilting it would give it more of a feeling of movement. Just the artist in me looking at it.

You even want to do Quassy on the cheap, we live about 20 minutes from the course -- you can come stay with us.

Thanks Kelly.  That's awesome of you.  I'd offer you the same for IMTX, but our house is packed to the gills with kids and dogs.  Maybe if the wife gets her way we'll have a new place with a guest room by then.

My dream race would just get to a level I could do at least a HIM. Depending on how things go intraining I may upgrade one of my races to an OLY, but I just have to see

While it is in my bucket list to do an IM one day, I can't possibly imagine training for the 112 bike ride. I am having enough trouble getting miles in for a HIM bike . . . yuck (and I have an awesome bike and still hate it inside on a trainer).

I would say, I would love to do a Rev3 race and maybe a couple other HIM at different places.  I would love to do Lake Stevens 70.3 (family lives out there) and another that is cool and fun, maybe Steelhead or Racine.

Also, another couple marathons . . . just love running right now.

I know there isn't a person out there that wouldn't think I am nuts, but I signed up for the Marine Corps Marathon (yes, it is about 20 days after the Chicago marathon).  I couldn't resist and I don't care if I have to do a walk/run (or even walk most of it) method I just couldn't pass that up.  I mean, what could be more awesome that your own military serving you while you run (I want to thank every one of them for their service) and also having the opportunity to run by everything in DC.

Totally excited!!!! (AND IT IS SOLD OUT)

I felt something pull on the back side of my left knee when I was running this morning.  It didn't bother me much then, but it's killing me now.  Most likely my left leg is overcompensating for all the problems with my right.  I did a lot of thinking in the pool tonight.  I think this is not the time for me to be doing a HM.  I think I could seriously hurt my knee, hip, whatever if I continue on this way.  I can always pick up another HM (don't get me wrong...I am really down about this...don't like to say I can't do something!).  It was really hard to be honest with myself.  I need to rehabilitate my legs!!!

The plan for now is to work on my swimming & my biking, as these things don't really hurt at all.  I also want to work on strength training - core, glutes, hips...all of it.  Those areas are so weak from having the babies.  I'm not going to run until I can do it without feeling pain.  I'm looking for a great strength training regimen.  Any of you follow a routine?

As much as it sucks, I think its a good idea.  It not worth really hurting yourself this spring and loosing the whole season.  Be really careful with the over compensation issues.
