I had an incredibly emotional run on Wednesday. Physically it was tough. One of those rare days where you just don't want to get out there and emotionally it was a rollercoaster!

I got a nice little redemption run in last night. It was 10pm and I ran along the beach with my headlamp and the moonlight. I can normally hold myself back and be reasonable but last night I just needed to unleash. I am quite sure I was running sub 5K pace for 6 miles or so, totally breaking my training rules (don't tell anyone

wow - good work, girl!  That is smokin fast!  Sometimes, braking the rules just feels good...or in this case, bad?...or good?  you know what I mean!

I don't normally buy race photos, but to commemorate Moab...

ETA: yes, i "forgot" to smile...

VERY cool! Nah, smiling in race photos gets awkward. This way we can almost feel the heat ourselves! Smile

YANTI - I don't know who you pissed off in karma land, but you are gettin' it good! When does this end for you, my dear? I am hoping and praying that you just get some time for rest and relaxation, get healthy and get to enjoy some fun training. Hang in there, you are definitely an amazingly strong person!

Ok, that's all I can remember to respond to off the top of my head, but happy training to everyone else and I hope you all have a great weekend!

I'm taking DH to Boston for his bday, sunset cruise tomorrow night, steak dinner, staying at a lovely hotel with panoramic window views of the city, then a Freedom Trail photography tour Sunday morning.  Training will be hard to fit in, I was going to try to squeeze a bike in before my horseback riding tomorrow morning, but it's cutting it too close.  Oh well, I rode 27.5 miles last night (farthest EVER!) stregnth this am, run this afternoon.  Swimming...needs to get back on the docket on a regular basis ASAP! Need to figure out how I'm going to swim 800m straight in a month from yesterday...

Actually, it doesn't ever end. Hm, not sure which Manatee has known me the longest here? Badger Jen Moose (Artemis) ... but those of you who know me well can vouch it's ALWAYS like this.

The upside is that I really am the luckiest girl in the world. I live a riotously rich life. Sometimes heavy on the riot. Also, I keep trying to trade my family on the Internet, but nobody seems to want them regardless of what I'm willing to accept in return!

Case in point--in addition to everything else going on for me, a beloved friend of mine visiting here on holiday--HOLIDAY!!--got SPLATTERED in a motor accident--fractured skull, collarbone, 5 ribs, shoulder blade, humerus, pelvis, femur (multiple fractures in some of those bones), horrible lacerations and road rash. In the accident and ensuing surgery he lost tons of blood and OF COURSE he's got a ridiculously rare blood type, and the hospital has very spare stores of O- most of which they dump into him (and what amounted to close to a full transfusion is additionally very hard on your body even if the blood is compatible).

So I led the charge on a massive FB and text tree to find him some A- blood, stat.

The wonderful thing is, two people were very quickly found. And now I/we also know who all the available O- people on the island are in the certain case of future need.

Beantown cruise and STEAK!!! and the Freedom Trail! Never mind missing some training ... that was an awesome ride, and all that awesome iron you'll get from the steak will facilitate oxygen delivery.

Yeah for serious, I should probably not try and coax an innocent manatee into drinking beers with me before a race... What a terrible influence! Innocent

I don't think "scared" even begins to describe it. Remember what she said about her family reunions?!

Then again, Kirsten might swim bike run a whoooooole lot faster ...

Too funny. Thanks for bringing a smile to my face on a not so smiley day. I have had to "talk" to my entire team about attention to detail, carefulness, blah, blah, blah. I dislike the days where I have to be the hardnose. But, in perspective, if this is the worst I have going on, then it ain't so bad.

Yeah, I couldn't ride at all last summer because of being pregnant, so it's been a really long time!  My butt and other areas are not happy about it.
