Vizsla.  They are Hungarian pointers.  I've got a couple more pics of him in my album

I'm game if you need someone else - and I am closer with the bail money.

What am I, chopped liver?

Then again, I'm so mad today, I might join him.

so now I'll need bail money for two?

-B

Brian, you bail me out, John, you bail Tony out.

There.  Settled.

Note to self, leave home brass knuckles.

great hunters - some are just a touch hyper until you get them into the field - then they go to work.

Thanks.  I had planned on getting a puppy but the breeder I'd been speaking to didn't have the litter when expected.  Turned out she had an 18 month old who needed a home so I took him.  Actually worked out well as he is through all of his puppy phase.  Plus he can go running with me.

I know a great breeder up here - but that doesn't help you much.

TheSchwamm - 2008-05-28 4:13 PM  i bet that's gonna feel really good... What is it for? Is it there to stabilize the bone? When my dad broke himself, he had to be in traction, and it involved a pin through his femur. The nurse would have to come in a few times every day to turn the pin so his skin would adhere to the pin. Brrrr.

The pin is there to hold my shoulder in place so the my ACL can re-attach.

to answer some others:
yea it hurts.
I am nervous about the removal.
It looks a lot like a "you are here" pin.
I am going to save it and make a necklace (talisman) out of it.

Yes, but I'm a giver like that!!! Besides ... oh poor, dear John ... Keith has hometown advantage, you know, and he gave my doggie a huge jar of quackers for my birthday, so I at least owe him one big sloppy wet one on her behalf.

I just read the wikipedia. Other than being a little hyper... they sound perfect.

I always wanted a Chesapeake Bay retreiver... but I've read you have to know how to discipline dogs to own one... and since I've never had a dog, that's not a good choice for me.

Daily exercise helps with the hyper part.  There is a large field by my house that I run him off leash while I'm on my mountain bike.

Cool

The only part that takes a little getting used to is that they need to be near/touching you at ALL times.
