Good luck to everyone this weekend including those only running a measly little half marathon

Kick some butt and more importantly have fun!

This might make me sound like a total idiot, that still has a lot to learn about her bike, but.... I noticed last night when I was riding that the bolts on my cleat were coming loose, and in fact one of then fell off at some point.  I tightened them up & everything was fine.  Is this normal?  Or am I doing something wrong?

I don't think you did anything wrong just tighten that bolt down and you'll be good to go

Here's another silly cycling question (and WARNING, as a still novice cyclist I will have a lot of these).....does anyone else have a problem with their toes going numb when they ride?  Sometimes mine do....like today.  Shoes aren't too tight and there's plenty of room (but not too much) in the toe box.

I've never had numb toes before besides when biking in the cold I have heard of people having issues with SPD cleats, what kind of pedals do you have? To help numbness, the wider the pedal the better which is why most people use the Look ones.  Could also be the pedal position, most people like it placed right underneath the ball of the foot. Another issue I've heard of is not stiff enough shoes (you can get inserts for firmness/cushion at a bike store).

Uhm, ow.

Though I did some research last night and discovered I was 6 minutes faster on the bike and 8 minutes faster on the run than I was on the last olympic I did.

I kinda sorta not really but it works to say it wish that we would have been able to swim yesterday to see how much I would have beat my last Olympic time by... I was on pace for an at least 15 minute PR methinks.

Woho, that's great! Now after all the mental games you played with yourself aren't you glad you did the race? You'll just have to signup for your next Olympic to make that PR official

I AM glad that I did it.  Though I will probably never do that race again.  There were too many people for such a short course, and it was hell having to be there by 5:30 a.m. and not starting until 9.  I was ready to go back to bed long before the start.

I'm going to stick with smaller races from here on out methinks.  Until Ironman.

Hey gang ~ I got back into Houston last night, which was nice (kinda) only to find that my AC unit on my house has gone out.  Man, when it rains it pours... my truck and all that presents and then I get home to this... It's like the waves of CC bay are following me...lol!

I haven't been able to find results from my race yet, but as soon as I do, I will update and post the race report.  I hope my truck is ready by tomorrow, so that I can get down there, pick it up, get my trailer and head home.

Great race report Nicole!  Congrats on the improved times ~ you have trained hard and earned every minute!

Happy Monday y'all!  This will be an easy week (of training) for me which should allow me to be well rested for the Sprint on Saturday!

Happy Monday!!!  I still haven't gotten around to my race report...hopefully during lunch I'll get to it.  My legs feel great today...semi-shocking.  I expected to be at least a little sore.  Post-race they had some personal trainers there to stretch you out, IF you were willing to wait on the super-long line....totally worth all the waiting though

The wife claimed my weekend time with a list of stuff I had to get done. Since she let me skip out friday and go golfing and get back at 1 am I was ok with that. I actually feel real good today and ready to get some training in. Hope everyone else had a great weekend.

BTW I am pretty pumped by ready to RR already. Looks like everyone did real good. Makes me want to hit it today.

Don't be disappointed, you showed mental toughness by starting back up! Not only did you start back up but you finished strong which is very tough to do

You and Nichole both had body glide issues.. use it everywhere on race day, it is your friend!

KelliD - 2009-04-27 11:10 AM RR is done....
But before my new favorite miracle drug kicked in I succombed to mental weakness and walked the last half of the second hill I'm really disappointed in myself for this.

Yesterday's damage was just the icing on the cake to the damage from Saturday's ride.  Let's just say, that I'm not exactly elated with the thought if getting in that saddle later on.  But, I've learned my lessons and will defintely not make them again!!!!
