D001 - 2009-11-12 12:29 PM So I think I'm canceling my plans to run wog today. A couple of kids disappeared from a house nearby, armed with guns and ammo. There are helicopters and police cars all over the place. Believe me, I make a slow, easy to shoot at target....

The kids are armed??  Scary!

DO NOT OPEN THAT DOOR!!

Yeah, it's scary. But sooner or later, the dog is going to have to go out....

The kids apparently have "multiple guns" and extra ammo.....

I made this post at 10pm last night, but seeing as how the power was out it didn't post until I refreshed the window today.

Deeder - any update on the scene?

Well, I picked a good night to work late. It seems there were roadblocks up all around my neighborhood during the day....

The kids were found -- just outside my subdivision. According to the news reports, they'd had an accidental discharge of one of the guns. But other than that, everything was OK.

After it had gotten dark, a driver turning onto the main street caught sight of them in his headlights, and called 911.

It seems the family had just moved to the area. The kids had some problems at their new school, so they decided to run away and go back to their old home.

I'm not sure how they planned on getting back, considering it's a 6+ hour drive (and they were on foot). But they did have the foresight to bring a sleeping bag (in addition to the guns and ammo).

All I can say is, I am VERY glad that nothing more happened out of this and that YOU, your family, the neighborhood, and the officers dealing with this, are ALL fine!

This is just scary.

Hopefully, the kids (family, and school system) can get counseling.

Thanks!

I'm glad the kids were found. It was pretty unnerving yesterday, with the helicopters doing search patterns over my backyard.

When the news report aired on TV last night, the kids were still at the police station, talking to police. I'm not sure where they are now.

All the local schools were on lockdown yesterday. I'm sure all the students (and their parents) had a tough day....

I was frustrated.  I put 2 pics in my RR with no problem, no resizing needed.  The same pics won't load into women of BT without a resize.  They're pics of TinkerBeth, Jen , miss thing & I on Friday night and TinkerBeth, Kristen and I yesterday before the half mary.

The ouch comments are my delayed onset soreness.  The PR is worth the pain.  8 minute PR

GREAT JOB!

When you do the edit/insert image, play with the dimension size part - I think you'll get it.
