I wanted a running themed inspire, for Robin's race this weekend. I had it narrowed down to two. The one I used and "Life is short, running makes it seem longer." Did I pick the right one? This one would have been VERY appropriate, considering. made me laugh and the dog came running to see what was going on! Edited by ceilidh 2010-04-09 7:49 AM |

Elite 3447 West Allis, WI | Subject: RE: The Ghoulies are doing Ironman distances this month! skrtrnr - 2010-04-07 6:41 PM EVENING GHOULIES. happy to report i DID NOT die at Spin Boot Camp. and considering it was my first class i HUNG IN THERE and did reasonably well. i guess conjuring up in my mind that is was gonna be TOTALLY HELLACIOUS did the trick, mentally. i have to admit, i went into class LITERALLY SHAKING. my spinning was UBER STRONG throughout, as if there was any doubt. though. admittedly i had some doubt. its one thing to spin for an hour, its a whole other ball of wax to spin for 10 minutes and then go through TEN MINUTES OF BOOT CAMP HELL only to get back on the bike to spin. my BOOT CAMP FORM from time to time w certain exercises left something to be desired, but that only means that theres room for improvement....weaknesses to be strengthened....limiters that need to be transmuted into strengths. im MOST DEFINATELY going to take the class again. but for it being the FIRST TIME, im giving myself a HIGH FIVE. 7+ on execution 9 on effort 10 for HTFUing it. it was DEFINATELY INTERESTING. the set up of the class. i was promptly told and i quote, 'THIS ISNT ABOUT SPINNING THIS ALL ABOUT BOOT CAMP' well alrighty then. we started out w about 8-10 minutes of spinning, mixed intervals standing, seated climbs. fast flats. working the entire time. then it was 8-10 mins of boot camp stuff, 10 sets of 3 exercises. cant remember exactly what. then 8-10 more minutes of spinning. then 8-10 mins of 10 sets of 3 exercises. these were executed VERY quickly. then 8-10 more minutes of spinning and 8-10 mins of 10 sets of exercises. we did lunges, squats, lizard pushups (or something like that), squat jumps (plyo), kick backs (triceps) regular push ups, hole body crunches, leg lifts..... i sucked at the regular pushups which i expected. the kick backs were hard only cuz my arms were already crushed from ST yesturday. but other than that i felt strong...and again, even stronger on the spin. i surprised myself how strong i was. im thinking thats what i needed to know. now i know. its a good feeling. stacieb Knew you could do it Queen! Nice job! |

Elite 3447 West Allis, WI | Subject: RE: The Ghoulies are doing Ironman distances this month! ironannekidd - 2010-04-07 7:04 PM I needed to ride my bike today, but when I got home I didn't feel like it. I came up with 20 reasons not to go on a ride. I even laid down across my bed and fell asleep for half an hour. Then I finally drug my azz out the door. I went hard on this loop I have of non busy roads. I had 9.5 miles in and if I went right I would be home in 3.5 miles. If I went left I'd be home a lot more miles later. I went left. When I got home I had 21.72 miles in. It was hot out, and parts were pretty windy. When it was all said and done I'm glad I did it though. Then when I got home I did a mile walk/run with my daughter while she rode her bike. I should sleep well tonight. WOOOHOOOOO NICE! |

I try to do this to all my members! |

I was there the day after walking to my meeting. Just let me say EEEEEEEEEEWWWWW!!! Ghoulies I have a confession I have never had a Krispy Kreme donut I have on several occasions had people tell me they were going to take me to the store and get me a fresh warm donut It has never happened And I'm not losing sleep over it I'm not really a fan of donuts to begin with Unless they have chocolate and maybe some sprinkles on them That is all Living in the south I am supposed to like them. I prefer Dunkin Donuts if I have to have them Krulers and coffee. I'll trade sweet snacks for fried salty ones anytime. Fried and salty is my weakness! I'm not a fan of sugary, except maybe brownies. I had 2 cakes and 2 dozen cupcakes at my house on Sunday and never touched them. fried, not so much for me. salty for sure. i tend to oscillate between sweet and salty. that's why i think CHOCOLATE COVERED PRETZELS ARE PURE GENIUS. stacieb Mmmmmmmmmmmm |

You are not alone. I have the same issue, so do others that I've read about. That was part of my gripe about my hours changing. If I get my HR up it takes too long to come back down. I have found in my own personal experience though that a glass of red wine helps me unwind and sleep. it was most definately a heart rate issue....well that and the conversation i had w my friend last night.....and the conversation im gonna have tonight w my in laws. lots of unease in my life right now. which is ok, its just..... im not sure exactly where mine was at [gotta start wearing a monitor] but it was elevated when i walked outta class. the instructor apologized, we didnt get to our final spin segment, she was too busy BEATING OUR AZZES TO PULP and ran out of time. the classes are booked back to back (SO WRONG ON A MULTITUDE OF LEVELS imho) so there wasnt sufficient time to cool down. i was SO spent from the workout and the day, but what i shouldve done/what i wanted to do was go and swim an easy 500...just to lower my HR/and stretch out a few things.... MY BAD. though... i do like your wine idea. i havent had a bottle in the fridge since oh about New Years.....perhaps i'll try Malatonin next time. thanks sweets. stacieb mmmmmmm wine....just polished off a bottle last night! |
