Not trying to discuss religion. Politics is FAR safer

I won't discuss either with people I don't know very well and often not with people that I do know well. There are just certain topics that I steer clear from with strangers: religion, politics, Walmart, etc. No matter what you say someone will jump on you. For example, if I expressed my true feelings about people whose children are loud in the library for a prolonged length of time, I'm sure that I would catch flak for it. It's not really that I care if they disagree with me, but I just don't want to argue with people.

I think everyone can agree that sometimes death by firing squad is warranted.

Yeah expect for all the angry mommies: "That's just have my little Katelynne Madissonne expresses herself. You're just bitter and angry that you don't have little bundles of joy of your own." Uh-huh. Right. Oh and people, turn off your crappy rap ringtones while you're at it. Thanks.

Did I say to stop at the children?  The good thing about firing squads is that you can make them to include any number of people.  And there are proper places for free expression, the library isn't one of them.

Probably not.  You do realize alcohol is a depressant right?  Who would you be going with?

Excellent point.  Met up with CG for ice cream (she was 15 min late).  She wants to do a tri in about 3.5 weeks, talked about us "training together".  I thought of you, then realized my leg wouldn't be heal in enough time to race it.  Oh well, I guess I will be crying my eyes out over that one.

I thought we had agreed that you would watch a movie.  I just don't know how I feel about you sitting in a bar by yourself just knocking back jack.  Why don't you call that girl and I don't know, talk to her.  You have two races in the next week and a half, I don't really think that a couple of drinks is the best decision.  But that's just my opinion and you don't have to take it.

Send her down here, I'm looking for more semi-neurotic girls to join Dan's Lackluster Triathlon Training Camp ®  Our workouts consist mostly of me looking on disapprovingly as the trainees binge drink and take vacations then complain about how they look fat in their tri-suits (as supplied by the camp).  Do you think she'd be interested?

I did watch a movie.  Or most of one, then I got bored and jumped back on TAN.  I don't drink Jack anymore, and haven't touched hard liquor since Feb.  The girl I would talk to is currently coaching a high school girl's softball game.

Probably if she were allowed to talk about the training habits and lives of people she doesn't really know.  Seriously who does that after what 10th grade?  I really don't care to know the race schedules, majors, and dating habits of the 50+ people in our club thanks.  There are really more important things to discuss.  Do I think that they sit around and ponder why it's so difficult for me to move a bike in the forward direction or concern themselves with the status of my dissertation - probably not.

I'm woefully behind on Roman Mythology... Can you catch up on it and fill me in????

Thanks

Oh.. Add Shakespear and Poetrey to the list...

What would you like to know about Roman Mythology?  There's actually a decent chance I could answer some questions.

Spokes - 2008-07-31 6:50 PM Because people, in the end its all about being happy. You don't know when God is going to call your number, and while I don't believe in an angry God of Judgment, I certainly think you're going to be examined for how you lived your life and treated others during it.

I'd respond to this statement, but then this would turn into a TAS, and I'm pretty sure I can't handle that right now. Suffice it to say, I had a really good ice cream cone for a buck and bought some nice earrings from the sidewalk sale next door to the ice cream parlor (or whatever you kids call them nowadays).

Didn't mean to type, "Massage Parlor"??

"Hurry up and get a scoop before it's gone."

Given the earlier comments today about ice cream cone paper, I daresay that TAN has pretty much managed to merge the two.

Either way, ask for sprinkles and a cherry on top.

I've never liked cherries (I don't really like cherry-flavored things either).  Can I get some whipped cream instead?

Do you prefer cool whip in the tub or whipped cream where you press the tip and it comes shooting out?

Start at the beginning.. I think if I can get Mythology, Shakespear, Poety and Lit. down I can actually go on Jeopardy

You'll have to give me a bit to straighten all the mythologies out in my head.  The last mythology I got into was Norse mythology, and it's all so darned similar.

It's hard to say (about dating you) as I don't know her type.  We've never really discussed boys specifically, just their race schedules.  You could fax over the forms, but there is no guarantee they would be returned in a timely manner.

The dating thing isn't really important.  I could probably run her off even if I was her type.  And the forms don't need to be returned in a timely manner, just as long as she doesn't train but expects to have a lot of fun on race day, and take me out of my training plan as often as possible.

So it looks like you need to find something non-destructive to do indoors/around the house suggestions include:

gardening (somehow this just don't sound like you)

woodworking

learning bike repair

model trains

etc.

Do you think she'd be interested?

Probably if she were allowed to talk about the training habits and lives of people she doesn't really know. Seriously who does that after what 10th grade? I really don't care to know the race schedules, majors, and dating habits of the 50+ people in our club thanks. There are really more important things to discuss. Do I think that they sit around and ponder why it's so difficult for me to move a bike in the forward direction or concern themselves with the status of my dissertation - probably not.

Probably if she were allowed to talk about the training habits and lives of people she doesn't really know. There are 2 hours alloted for that daily.

Seriously who does that after what 10th grade? K, and several of her friends.

If she's hot and has absolutely no interest in dating me, but wants to hang out all the time, I can fax you over the sign-up forms.

It's hard to say (about dating you) as I don't know her type. We've never really discussed boys specifically, just their race schedules. You could fax over the forms, but there is no guarantee they would be returned in a timely manner.

The dating thing isn't really important. I could probably run her off even if I was her type.a And the forms don't need to be returned in a timely manner, just as long as she doesn't train but expects to have a lot of fun on race dayb, and take me out of my training plan as often as possible.

a I'm seriously starting to think that we need a positive self talk TAN.  One whole TAN where we refused to beat ourselves up

b I'm sure that could be managed

All this talk about dating...I remember dating.  I liked dating.  My wife won't let me date anyone but her now.
