Speaking of the weekend.. Im going to a 30th... a guy I used to work with who while Im good friends with I havent been great at staying in touch with the last year or so...

Any gift ideas... Im thinking around teh $50 mark... I cant think of anything, and I dont know his wife well enough to ask her!

Nice bottle of wine or champagne?  Gift certificate to a restaurant?

I like how you think - when he was single we used to do the dinner thing together as our birthdays are a few weeks apart... that might be nice.

Wine - definatley, just wish I knew more about it to get a good one!

I'm not Beth, but, is that a first date?  If not, I believe he's thinking more than just friends.

Since I don't know the situation and guy, and it maybe a "thank you" dinner, I would still keep in the back of your mind to reserve the right to say "no, thank you" for any other intentions (unless, of course, that is something you were looking forward to).

hehe... nice work...

The situation is good, the guy is a well behaved gentleman and the dinner is unconfirmed at this stage...

But something about it seemed like a very sweet but quite.. I dont know... intimate? Unless there are other people involved...

Bow chicky wow wow!  Could go either way.  But then again if you see him putting a little powdery substance in your wine glass you might want to make like T1 and get out of there.  Unless like the Donkey said you want to see where it goes.

it doesn't sound like your generic guy and gal just friends dinner...unless you always have wine with dinner.
