Hi Nibbs, any thoughts on this:

I have a lot of leave owing... a lot... so work has just offered to manage things so i can take all of the Tour De France off work... all of it... the entire thing... 3 weeks of riding my new bike, watching bikes, swimming, running and sleeping... what do we think?

is there a catch?

otherwise

doh'!

OMG!!!!

Cat that is awesome

Catch? I dont get to talk cycling with people on a daily basis?

I spend all my leave sleeped deprived... so it seems like a waste?

Honestly... nope no catch really... theyve even offered to make sure Im not walking back into a big mess of work!

Im actually thinking that taking the week after the Tour off would be good so I have a week of normalcy before I go back to work...

So EITHER... take 4 weeks or take the last 2 weeks of the Tour + 1 week...

If I had cash I could fly somewhere and sit on someone elses couch for a few days

I am contemplating a mid week getaway or something... If Im in a hotel with room service my odd TDF related hours wouldnt be an issue!

Here's a question for you, Cat. We were talking about vacation time today - or rather, lack thereof.

About how much vacation time does someone in Australia normally get?

Here, it's two weeks. (Although some places give three.) And there are some employers that allow you to get additional time, once you get enough seniority.

I know this is a lot less than people in Europe seem to get.

So I was wondering about Australia. (Note: I'm not necessarily talking about the amount of time that you, personally, get. I'm just wondering what's "usual" there.)

Yes we get more than yuo :p

The normal amount to be offered is 4 weeks a year.

Plus I think its 5 sick days annually (dont quote me on that one)

Im on a weird arrangement thats a bit different to that... but thats the norm...

Actually, I'm not going to quote anything. LOL I was just wondering if you were more like the European schedule.

Interesting about the sick days. I get 1 day per month.

Can get some really cheap holidays at the moment... if I made it to a cycling location mid week it probably wouldnt be a bad thing;...

As long as they had the cycling channel on the tv...
