Treated myself to a liesurely swim/bike workout followed by a dip in the hot tub.

Treated myself this evening to a trip to the booze superstore for this months supply of expensive bottles of brew.

1pint 9.4 oz's:

  1.  the Sixth Glass a quadrupel ale from Boulevard.  10.5%  Boulevard's brewed in KC (Kansas City for our friends north)
  2. Double wide IPA from Boulevard at 8.5%
  3. Sam Adams New world at 10%  (Boston, David's favoriteLaughing)

22 oz.ers (1pt. 6oz.)

  1. No-LI wrecking ball Imperial at 9.5% (Spokane WA)
  2. Bridgeport Hop Czar at 7.5%  (Portland OR)
  3. Skaggit River brewing Sculler's IPA no %given.  (Washington)

Super Stoked about the 1pt 9.4oz'ers

Tomorrow is an 8.2 mile run

Prost!

If it motivates you - awesome. But Sam Adams might be the most overrated brewery in America.

The Boulevard is awesome.  You will really enjoy their double wide IPA.  The quad is good too!

Back is still sore but feeling better.  May skip my swim tomorrow based upon how I feel in the morning... Just raising my hands over my shoulders hurts to put away the dishes totally hurts... So we shall see.  If not tomorrow - then for sure on Wednesday...

Last night before bed, I decided to sleep in and rest the back... but I awoke without my alarm at 4:30.  For about 5 minutes I went back and forth about the merits of getting up/staying in bed.. and then thought about the group and how crappy that Coors light would taste...  45 minutes later I was at the gym.  I managed to get in 20 minutes of swimming (slow - 3:00 per 100) as well as 30 minutes of aqua jogging.

No coors light for me...

I know it's February and we are all tired - but this is the time to rely on the group to get you through.  If you posted in the last day - nice work.  If you didn't post your goals, try to get it done today.  Be sure to reach out and support one another with replies or likes!

Question - What is your favorite mid-day snack and when do you eat it?

Answer - I usually have my snack in between breakfast and lunch.  It's usually nuts (lately I've been getting into pistachios) or a Mojo bar from Cliff.

I could have wrote this myself some mornings! Great job getting it done! I was just about to type a reply to your previous post on taking a break...Smile

As for snack, I prefer a mid morning guinness...

Actually I usually go workout early am, then banana right after, midmorning oatmeal, late morning fruit, lunch, mid afternoon granola/granola bar, supper.

knee still causing some trouble with yesterdays 6 mile run. Happened at about 5 mile mark. My glutes are still sore from p90X legs/back. I forgot how sore that program makes a feller.

last night I had too much beer appreciation and have therefore post-poned my bike until Monday. Great local award winning beer. The owner quit his job as a lawyer to make beer. Cheers to that!

Haha, we all have those "too much beer appreciation" nights! Make sure you don't overdo it on your knee. Sub in some biking and swimming, assuming it doesn't hurt for those activities!

11/12 in the 27/28 challenge. Pushups, I am a 1/2 week behind. Back at it tonight. Somebody give me the gears if I don't get them in tonite!

A month and half into your training. How is everone feeling? I know this is a tough time as the honeymoon stage is over. What seemed like a great idea isn't seeming like it now. You start to justify why you don't have time to train.  Races still quite aways off and training starting to take its toll. If you can make it through the next 2-3 weeks you will be out of the weeds and ready for some great spring training! Justify why you don't have time NOT to train.

Question - What is your favorite mid-day snack and when do you eat it?

Greek yogurt.  That stuff is great - high protein for the calories, and tasty too.

In other news, February continues to drag along.  House-shopping is slogging along, since nothing new will come on the market until April to start the spring/summer season, and it's too dreary/rainy/cruddy to ride or run outside.  It's either too cold or too wet to ride or run outdoors.

Here's to April, when things get better.  Until then, just keep on swimming, peddling, and stepping.

Keeping up with the forum while getting a workout in...  Way to knock out two birds with one stone!

As for the HIM - you are doing a great job of getting ready for it!  While you are coming off an injury - you've got plenty of time to put the finishing touches into your training.  6 weeks to go and then you get to taper.  As someone said to me prior to my HIM (and you have put in months more training than I did) - you could complete it today. And you could!

Remember that while you are eating your greek yogurtLaughing

Great positivity Guys.  Those excuses seem to pile up.  Your positivity is going to push me to make sure I get in the gym tonight no matter what  excuses pop into my head.

Keep on pushing!

Got a swim in today.  Still had to stop after each 25 but now it's down to 30-45 seconds rest.  Getting better every time.  I started the push up challenge a week behind but doing it faithfully 3x a week.  I added the 200 sit up one as well on the same days since I can't run for at least a week or two.

Thanks for the positive thoughts!

My problem is that 56 miles does not seem that far, but doing 39 on the trainer today was not fun. I think it is harder on the trainer. I hope.

Hey guys,

Just checking in here quickly, as you know my Mom is in town visiting and so we have been hanging out and just enjoying lots of family time. I hope everyone is doing well on their workouts, I am loving the Push up challenge!! Thor thanks again you Masochist! but honestly, really excited to see the end results of it and then keep PU's as a part of my daily routine.

Still battling the weight loss here but I got a live blood analysis today, EXPENSIVE! ( Gonna try to put it in on my health insurance...they sometimes squawk at the Naturopathic stuff though). I have always had some digestive issues and it is time to get to the bottom of it! which will hopefully help with the weight loss as well.

Right O folks.....lets keep the good times rolling!
