Good morning Ghoulies!

Wow, two celebrations in one week.  St. Patrick's Day and the First Day of Spring.  I just can't take the excitement!

I think the best way to celebrate would be Ghoulie Pile in NC next weekend!

This semester I am only taking 1 class instead of 2. What a difference it has made! I do not feel like I am being choked with school work, and trying to get everything done. Oh, and guess who is at the top of their class right now.

Question of the day: The re:connect group that Keri is part of at school is having a bake sale next Thursday and Friday as a fundraiser, what would be good items that her and I could bake and donate?

The bake sale was actually Keri's idea. I suggested the dates to her because it is MS report card pickup and parent/teacher conferences on those afternoons, so there will be lots of foot traffic in the school. Her guidance counselors loved the idea. Keri and I are working at it next Thursday. Friday someone else will have to step up because we'll be heading out of town.

Items with icing sure tend to be messy for people to handle or to package.  Maybe brownies without icing or maybe fudge.  Cookies are always good.  Or even little baggies of brittle.

They are "tracking" the situation. Every time I've heard that this year we've gotten a minimum of 6" of snow. CA is in a drought, they are welcome to the snow.

Soccer practice was supposed to start on Tuesday for Caleb, it was cancelled. They are practicing tonight, but only for an hour, and probably in the parking lot because the fields are closed because they're so muddy.

I have no idea when Keri is going to start softball practice for her rec ball team. We went out to the field last Friday and we were sinking into the infield. The outfield sounded like you were walking on a giant sponge with all the squishy. Her tournament team has been doing drills and stuff indoors, but I know the coach wants to get them outdoors and see what they can really do.

Keri wants to make rice krispy treats which should be ok. I just emailed one of my aunts a few minutes ago and asked her if she could make me some fudge. Everyone always loves her fudge. I'm thinking maybe some snickerdoodles, or possibly buckeyes. I want to have something different thinking other people will donate chocolate chip cookies, or brownies.

Ann, when we did the bake sale for the band, rice krispy treats were always very popular.  In addition to chocolate brownies, chocolate chip cookies, and yo yo cookies.  Breads, cupcakes and cake were less popular because of the mess with icing and not looking as pretty once they were cut.  Basically anything that looks really good in a baggie works because they want to see what they are buying.

Good morning Ghoulies!

Happy FFFFriday.

It is supposed to be near 60 today and tomorrow. WOOHOO. Before it drops back into the 40's next week. BOOOOOOOOO!!!

The kiddos have an early dismissal today, so they'll get home shortly after I do. I think I'm going to take them out for lunch.

I have come to a conclusion!

I no longer like getting good grades. I used to work hard for them. Strive for them. Be disappointed with anything less than an A. Now I think it's just too much d@mn pressure. I currently have 250/250 points in my class. I got 140/140 on the paper I turned in last week. It's too much pressure. I can't keep this up. I have 3 more papers to write this semester. I actually emailed the prof yesterday about the postings for the discussion section. I was reading everyone else's and they were all regurgitating materials from the book, citing references and all that. I haven't done any of that for any of the discussions. I asked him if I was doing it right, because I was using my own thoughts and words. He told me I was the only one doing it right, and that I was at the top of the class.

It's a lot of work being me.

On a lighter note...

Last evening my neighbor posted a question on FB, should she go out for wings, or stay home and make dinner. I replied go for wings, and pick me up some. She asked if I liked a restaurant about 20 minutes away. I said they had great wings. A little while later she sent me a pm and asked me if I wanted 6 or 12 wings and what flavor? I asked if she was serious. She said yes, they were on their way there for dinner, and they'd pick me up wings and bring them home. I gave her my order, and asked if she could get Keri some chicken strips. We get home from Caleb's soccer practice last night and 10 minutes later I'm having dinner delivered for Keri and I. The boys warmed up pizza I had brought home earlier in the day.

Woot for my neighbor and delivered dinner!

Yo yo cookies are basically two cookies with a big slab of icing in between them.  Great if you love good icing.  It has to be good icing and thick so that the cookies don't slid around.  Here are what the Yo yo cookies look like at my local grocery store.

Don’t forget this is an incredibly big year for sport with the Olympics back in Athens where the modern Olympics started, and especially triathlon to make its second appearance.
