Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Ernesto, thanks again for letting me in the group. I'm finding lots of motivation and learning a lot from everyone's questions and answers. And it seems like I'm slowly getting my training on track, in the right direction and consistent. |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Question for any foodies out there. I'm beginning to harvest salad greens from my garden. After reading Dr. Maffetone's book I'm trying to increase not only the amount but also the variety of vegetables in my diet. Got several different lettuces, spinach, chard, bok choy, and kale as well as green onions all ready to eat. Soon there will be snow peas and later several types of summer and winter squash, beans, tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage. While I'm enjoying all of these in salads, I'm curious what you all do with these other than put them in a bowl and put salad dressing on them. For example, any good kale chip recipes? Stir fry's? I'm open to suggestions. |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Great swim this morning, 3000 yards in 45:39, then an easy 30 minutes on the trainer (watching more Battlestar Galactica). Then off to track practice with my oldest where I was able to escape for a 5 mile MAF run. Seems like I just can't quite catch Mitch these last couple days of the contest though. Was a fun month though!

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() All this talk of the warm weather is making me jealous. Looking forward to going up north in a few weeks to spend a week in Broome. Average temp should be a pleasant 32. I starting to like the idea about an extra point when it comes time for our summer:-) |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Looks like it will be down to the wire for the definition of the challenge, only two days left and I smell two days of multisport workouts on the front runners. Great! Competition is healthy and fun.

Any deas how to disbale comepltely or as to what I am doing worng? Thanks, Mark. There are a number of options for autolap. Sounds like you've got it set to lap at the same place as you hit the lap button. Have you turned off autolap on both run and bike separately? That was the one that got me a few times. |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Despite still not feeling 100% I had my best long(ish) run in ages yesterday. 12 miles at 11min/mile with ave HR at 146 (my new MAF). The first and last miles were a little screwy, but otherwise really nice even pace at a really nice easy HR. Hopefully that means I'm starting to recover. It's finally got warm enough for some open water swimming here, and having remembered how much I don't really enjoy swimming in a wetsuit, I'm getting in as much practice as I can. A friend has told me about a 3.8k open water swim about a month before IM, which will be great to get a feel for pacing etc, so I'm going to check that out. - Mitch: S 8 / B 20 / R 19 / Rest Days 4 ; Total = 47 ; 31:05'46" |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Swim, Run and a Bike - feels like groundhog's day...I'm ready for this month to be over. @Joe - Congrats on a great month! Looking at graphs of your actual data - you've had three great months - AWESOME! I'm in sorta of the same boat (but with mouch lower volume) - after tomorrow I think I will have my first 2000 minute month! Gotta love the discpline that this group has inspired! @Andy - Thanks for pushing me through the end of the month. I tried not posting until late to see if you would slack off and obviously that doesn't work as I intended, so I decided to go ahead and post first thing today. Awesome job, Andy! @Ernesto - these challenges are super. No way I would have gotten up this morning to trudge to the pool in time to run and bike after. Thank you! -Mitch: S 9 / B 21 / R 20 / Rest Days 4 ; Total = 50 ; 32:36'22" Edited by dangremond 2012-05-30 7:15 AM |

Regular ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() If there is a June challenge, count me in. Maybe that will get me training again for a change. And if you guys keep whining about bonus points for running in the heat, then I want bonus for training at near 7000 feet. |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() 2250 in the pool this morning, felt pretty good and worked out to 1:28 average. That includes however 500 worth of 100 yd sprints at 1:15, but then again also includes 500 worth of drills which aren't at rocket speed. I think I'd better officially start some kind of taper for Alcatraz. I'll see what my plan has in place these two weeks, although the current plan was more of an outline, since I based it on a HIM plan although the Alcatraz distances were a bit less than HIM. I'm hoping extra long rides on the bike will make up for lack of hill training.
