I "lof" cheese. Hi TriAya!

Candy Lady. What's up?

I loooooffff cheese too. Some of the really, really, moldy, veiny, stinky French cheeses are a bit much, as is the cheese with maggots in it from Sicily (Sardinia?), but most are good wif me.

what's not to like... milk with love given to it.... awesome.

Sorry, don't know a thing about bikes other than the kind with pedals that you push 'round in circles (and I don't know too much about those)

The ones with engine make you go faster. Very fun, but a different kind of fun.

Let us know if you need any help with the people-powered ones. We will send help post haste.

Never tried the moldy, maggotty kind.  I also don't like Swiss.  Other than that I'm a big cheese fan.  Our natural foods store sells Glouchester with (Blue) Stilton.  So Tasty.

Not much is up.  I've been cleared to not go into the office until Aug 11 so until that time I'm gonna chill.  Yippee!!

Yeah, I don't think that I could be a vegan.  I can understand how people give up meat, but I just love cheese way too much.

I attempted to volunteer at habitat once and they basically sent me to watch an empty parking lot as the contractors that companies had "volunteered" did all the work on the house. I'm really hoping that isn't what Habitat is like here, I used to enjoy working with them back home. But that's more of a summer time thing too, isn't it?

One of my sisters worked on a Habitat for Humanity house in December. In Green Bay.

So, you know.

I'm 6'4" with a weird build (all legs) custom sport bike leathers were pushing $1400 the last time I looked. And that was with exchange rate a few months back. If I could find pants to zip to my current jacket I'd be ok, but my jacket isn't 100% leather, so I don't know. And it's hard to find a sport touring track day where I wouldn't have to be in an open class against R1's and other 1000's. Where I'm down 40hp and up 100lbs.

I can understand that. The track weekends with the BMW CCA here are $400, plus lodging and food and incidentals. You KNOW you're gonna eat through a set of brake pads in a weekend, and most of a set of tires. Don't worry about "competing" on the track. It's actually frowned upon at the track days I've observed. I know a couple guys who ride only Ninja 250s and 500s, knowing they're slow. But they can out-drive the liter bikes and actually pass them now and again. Until the back straight, that is...

I should have said "I don't want to be amongst the squids for..." I lost my hard riding edge last year when a friend of mine passed me on the right in my lane on a slight left handed turn. He got off in the gravel, high sided 10 feet in front of me, and then cleared the road and cartwheeled through the embankment for 200 yds.  He, amazingly enough, walked away with a sprained ankle.  I had a hard time with it because after watching him get tossed around like a rag-doll, I was pretty sure he died.  Since then, I haven't really ridden much. I may have failed to mention he was WFO in 6th gear when he bit it, I was pushing about 120 in 4th.

akustix - 2008-07-31 8:21 PM Maybe there's a God above
And all I ever learned from love
Was how to shoot at someone who outdrew you
It's not a cry you can hear at night
It's not somebody who's seen the light
It's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah

What's the name of that song? I love it, but I have no idea what it's called.

"hallelujah" by Rufus Wainwright... from the Shrek soundtrack... my boys are watching it right now.

Fair enough, here in the Quad Cities I've only seen them do the "blitz builds" but I also haven't looked much, because with my schedule I can never actually predict when I'll be free to do stuff.

It may be normal, but it's probably not good.  Does it hurt more the more you run, or does it hurt when you start running and then go away as your legs warm up?

I was going to ask why you didn't offer to give hot couch-hopping girl a place to sleep.  You didn't even have to offer the guest room.  Could have just closed the door to that room and told her it was a utility closet or something.

I believe those are shin splints.  I get them sometimes.  When I do I usually repeat the mileage for the week or scale it back a bit.  Does it hurt if you try to press your thumb in between the muscle and the bone.

You may need to stretch that muscle out more.

http://www.hksi.org.hk/function/triathlon/stretch2.htm

It'd probably be the stretch in figure 11.

I have to do that one a fair bit.

Wow.

For me, if I got a sport bike, it would be for the track ONLY. Too many crazies and uncertain conditions on public streets.

I've read/seen enough horror stories.

On the track, you at least generally know the intientions of the guy in front of you.
