ironannekidd - 2013-02-27 7:53 AM Good morning Robin. What's on tap for today?

Just work. Nothing exciting.

Well, except today is the day I can re-register for the MCM for my deferral last year. I am going to do that for both the hubbie and me.

Last year they sold out in about an hour. I started at the exact time they opened and just barely got Jim and I in. There were so many people the site kept crashing.

I'm going to be sitting at my computer ready to go as soon as registration opens. I think it's going to sell out quickly this year, too.

Good morning Ghoulies!

It's only Wednesday and it's looking like I've got a pretty busy weekend ahead. Keri has a 3v3 basketball tournament on Saturday, then on the way home we're picking up Caleb's best friend to spend the night. Saturday evening Keri and I are going to my cousin's house to get some desperately needed help making Caleb's birthday cake. It's his 13th birthday and I want something special. I would normally have my sister do it, but since we will be spending Saturday at the basketball tournament I have no time to go get it. Sunday the birthday festivities will start. Monday I'm going to go into work late. I'm going to stay home in the morning and take the boy out for breakfast, then drop him off at school. I'm not ready to have a teenager in the house!

Busy but fun!  So in what way is his cake going to be special?  flavor... shape... or ?

Hi guys. Thought I netter pop my head in for a quick hello.

The hubby and I have been house hunting. Fun and ugh all in one. Especially when we're all over the place with what we want. First it's one price range, less than 10 years old, in one of 2 neighborhoods. Then it's a higher price range, in only one of those neighborhoods, but also in another one. The we throw in "wouldn't it be cool to get a 100-year-old house near downtown" into the mix. And then add back in the first neighborhood we had ruled out. Oh, and the building lots. Let's not forget those. Oy! Our poor realtor! We currently have offers in on 2 lots, in the same area at the foot of the mountains. But the one Hubby wants the most has some pretty high square footage minimums for the house that will be built on it. And when I say Hubby wants that lot more, what I mean is that he's been drooling over this lot and watching the price slowly come down over the course of a year and a half. *sigh*. I don't know if we can afford to build on that lot (because of the size issue). And there's no HOA, but there is a committee that has to approve the house plans before we can build. And a few other ifs ands or buts. And he's not home for another day or two. And some decisions really ought to be made by tomorrow. Obviously they won't, and I'm hoping that doesn't come back to bite us later.

I'll try to stop back in tomorrow and catch up on the last few days. Until then, because it will be morning when you read this, Happy Hump Day!

So many decisions!  Good luck Amy!

Good morning ....

I went to bed early last night but still could have slept a little longer this morning!  I had a blood sugar bonk yesterday during my swim.  It just drained me.  That hasn't happened in a long time; not sure what set it off.

I am supposed to do a short treadmill run today.  I don't know if I will do it or put it off till tomorrow.

Sleep is always good. What happened with the blood sugar though?

After about 20 minutes of swimming, I started feeling really tired.  Didn't think too much about it, but a few minutes later I was feeling shaky and nauseous.  So I headed for the locker room.  I managed to shower and change but it took a looong time, and I was very shaky.  After I got back to my office (same building), I ate a snack bar and drank some more water.  I lay down for a while and then felt better.  Just really tired and drained.

Not sure why my blood sugar dropped.  I usually eat some fruit or something before I swim, but I had gone out for lunch and eaten a sandwich and potatoes.  I didn't feel hungry.  In fact I had waited about two and a half hours to swim because I felt full.  I guess I should have still eaten something before my workout.  I used to always have to carry candy or glucose tablets, but it has been so long since I had a problem that I wasn't ready for it.

I forced myself to eat some dinner, but when this happens my stomach doesn't want food even though my body needs it.  Hope this was a one time happening and not a pattern starting.  Frown

Not good. Not good at all. If it continues to happen you may want to see your doc to make sure there isn't an underlying problem.

Yeah, I will have to.  I have been pretty tired since last Friday.  Not much stamina.  If I am not back to normal by the end of the week, I will call and make an appointment.

Good day Ghoulies.

Dee - sorry about the sugar crash.  I hope you get your energy back soon.

Robin - looking forward to seeing you on Saturday.  Our kilts have buckles, so we are good.

Ann - Hope that the birthday celebrations are all wonderful.

Amy - wow, the stress of house hunting.  If we do any moving we are going to go to a smaller house.  Now that the kids are gone, we don't need the house that we have.  Of course it is nice the couple of times a year that the grandkids visit.  But in the long run, we aren't moving any time soon.  Good luck with the house hunting.  Make it big enough for Ghoulies to all come and crash.

Robin-hi! kilts are cool... now go run.

Kendra-kilts with buckles are cool! I've been told that our empty nest will soon become a bird refuge. My parents are already gunning for a main floor master so they can come stay with us. I told them I'd find a very comfortable alzheimer's unit nearby with a lockdown door policy. mwahahaha!

Dee-no blood sugar crashes. Blood sugar crashes are bad! Hope you're feeling much better already. Are you a diagnosed hypoglycemic?

So I handed over 2 earnest money checks to the realtor today. I currently almost own 2 building lots. We have until March 9th to get this figured out, or we have to figure out how to make the money for one lot turn into money for two lots. Eeek. ( I would much rather they magically turned into one lot, with the price tag of one lot, in the part of the valley we currently live in, but, yeah. Either one will be very nice to live on, so no worries, right?). And hubby will be home sometime between now and lunch tomorrow.

Do we have a special name for Thursdays?

ETA: of course the house will be big enough for ghoulie piles!

Robin-hi! kilts are cool...

We are using fondant, that's why I had to recruit help, I've never done it before. My cousin and my sister both do wonderful things with fondant. My sister is 3 hours away though, and my cousin is 10 minutes down the road. HELLO COUSIN!
