Has anyone heard from either of our Jonathans?  I'm hoping that AK has just had interweb woes or something.  Re: TX, don't know what to think.

Racing Manatees!

February 23-24

Ann-Marie - Miami Super Spartan adventure race on Saturday
Tracy - American Birkebeiner cross country ski event on Saturday
Simon - Great North West Half Marathon on Sunday

Go Manatees!  Go!

Splendid work again, Janyne! I did guffaw out loud at "taper madness" as a disability but you are entirely correct.

GO ANN-MARIE!

GO TRACY!

GO GORILLA!

*slinking around guilty*

*need to pack*

Thank you thank you!

Much needed. I get into pre-IM apathy/mild depression (funny, I never seem to have post-IM depression), where I just don't care about anything, don't want to eat anything, don't want to do anything, don't want to sleep either, who cares about this stupid race, etc.

However, the pizza--the one thing I could fathom eating right now, saving the Pop Tarts for race day!--made a huge difference. Homemade, sauce too, incredible.

Go racers GO!!!!I took the day off of work to go to Taos with DH. So I decided to sleep in a bit before heading to the gym for an hour swim and an hour run. I get to the pool, start my warmup and about 300 yards in they decide to close the pool because the air in the pool area is foggy and they can't see on the cameras :-/ Seriously? It's 3 feet deep!So I change in to my running gear and go knock out an hour on the dreadmill. Afterward I checked back on the pool to see if it was reopened yet. No such luck. Not happy :-( The Caccoon crowd is gonna be pizzed when the show up for aqua-robics-whatever-the-heck-they-do

I am about to leave for south Florida, it's 80* already, heading to probable record temps today. Hopefully, since the race is at the beach we'll get a bit of a breeze tomorrow, but either way it is going to be hot - we have an 11:15 start. I probably should have thought about hydration sooner ...

No better time to get started then now. What you do today is going to be more important than what you do tomorrow.

I think you're tired because you had a big week!

I'm sleepy too but that's because it's sleepytime and I have a full stomach. Unfortunately ... this is EXACTLY the time the race will be starting one week from now.

Oh good. Got my call rescheduled for Tuesday. Buys me some time.

That's really good because J and I were practicing this morning and our "interview" went off the rails about halfway through.

Her (in fake HR voice): So this role would be the next logical step?

Me: Absolutely. It's like when two people get married and then they are so bored with eachother, they decide to have kids, and then they neglect the kids because they didn't REALLY want them.

Her: Yes, I know the feeling.

Smile Would ya'll say I'm ready?

Substitute "pugs and cats" for kids and you are good to go.

Ok I have to add the rest of the transcript because it was so solid and I feel I am not doing it justice.

Me: So that analogy didn't even phase you?

Her: No, it really struck a chord in my heart.

Me: Great, maybe you can pass on some of those "chords" to the hiring manager?

Her: Great, excellent, no problem.

Me: Well, I would like to thank you for the opportunity, and I wish you, your marriage and your poor children the best of luck

Her: Thanks (reaches to shake my hand)

Me: You can't shake my hand! This is a phone interview!

Her: Betch! Shake me hand or I'm not passing along the "chords"

The End

Thank you, thank you very much!

No, no J was buried deep in her HR lady roll, not her real self. Err wait, I sure hope Wink I'll just keep telling myself that
