Great training, everyone!

I'm going to be traveling the next couple days, so won't be on again until Tuesday. I'm doing a 10k tomorrow though (yay! double credit), so will log and add training to the spreadsheet when I get back on.

All the best for tomorrow Roni.

I had to do another 45 min session on the trainer today as DH got called out to work AGAIN! AND, it's SUNDAY! I swapped my workout for tomorrows so Tomorrow I have a long run. Son is at school, DH work...no interruptions.

Keep on Training Pineapples.

i'm going to have to get my butt out there today, just to save FACE!!

wish i could do more today, but i'm going to have limited time, so i think i'll grab a quick run, i'm still trying to focus on speed work, so we'll see how it goes.

Hi all,

I did my first bike ride OUTSIDE this year today and it was lots of fun but it sure is different than the trainer ;) All these hills and the wind.... ;)

This is my week ahead:

Mon: Sleep (after 12 hour nightshift) and then flight to Köln and land at midnight
Tue: Flight to Hamburg and study in the evening
Wed: Exam all day and flight back to Köln in the evening and land at 9pm
Thu: 4am Flight to Iceland (flying myself) and then sleep before 12 hour nightshift (from 8pm), if possible bike 60min
Fri: Sleep after 12 hour nightshift and then Run & Weights
Weekend OFF :)
Sat: Swim & Crosstrainer
Sun: Bike & Run

This will be a crazy week and priority is that exam (first of three pre-employment test at a major German Airline) so exercise needs to take a setback the next 3 days.  It´s very likely that I won´t have internet access the next 3 days (2 hotels I have never stayed at) so I will report back Thursday :)
I hope you all have a great start in the new week :)

Finally got my long run in-60 minutes and my first swim(in nearly five years) -600m. I did a couple of swims a few weeks ago but as school hols were about to start I didn't see the point as I wouldn't get to a pool during the hols. So now the fun begins, trying to get some swim fitness back.

Hey, everybody, just a little reminder:

Any form of biking counts toward your goal. (spin, stationary, trainer, etc.)

Any form of moving your legs counts toward your running goal. (walking, eliptical, etc.)

so i'm planning a speedwork run today. 10 minutes slow then 4-4minute fast with 4 minute recovery walk. then 10 minutes slow to cool down.
THEN this afternoon i'm hoping to catch a spin on the stationary bike. ooh, i forgot i'm supposed to be doing 10 core workouts too, maybe i'll do that before i run this morning.

i just read about danskin disneyland! i think this would be SO FUN!! it's in june, and it's actually IN the park. how fun would THAT be?!? i think i'm going to try to do it next year. i'm doing danskin seattle this year, and i'm SO EXCITED about it.

That would be sooooo much fun! Maybe when my kids are grown and gone. Not that I'm anxious for that!

Oh, sad, pineapples. We are #7 of 8. Boo hoo. C'mon, lets get some more distance/time on the board!

As for me, I'm tapering this week, so I just did a leetle beety brick. 5.75 miles on the bike, and 1.8 miles on the run. Felt pretty good!

Hi team, I am back from my mini furlough! What a weekend, all the rain/snow wind a guy could take! Funny it was all at the same time...if you don't like the weather in Montana just wait a minute. I was planning on getting some swim time in at the hotsprings, but the pool was 80 degrees brrrrrrrr. Problem being I should have started in the 45 temp pool and graduated to the 107, but....

Went to the doc today, happy dance! He gave me a new brace, one where I can put on a real shoe wooowooo. He told me to work my leg hard, I think I am on the mend. I rode my bike this morning and lifted for a half hour. Did not have as much ambition as I thought I would after a break, I think I got up way too early and went to bed way too late, because I was drained. K

I'm finally on target. I did a 2hr bike ride today. Now I'm tired. Housework beakons. Boring... I'm looking for distractions.

I can see that everyone is doing a great job. I know that we are going to make a comeback this week. I have to admit that I am probably part of the reason for our low ranking this week as I have been on vacation and only getting in a short run here and there but will get a long bike in this weekend and hopefully a couple of other good workouts when I get back on Thursday.

kind of off topic question, but can someone help me with changing my avatar. I have looked everywhere. I know it is suppose to be in your control panels section but I cannot find it anywhere. Which tab is it under? Does someone know where there are directions?

Just below the "BeginnerTriathlete.com" logo and just above where it says "Welcome nhaefs. (log off) you will see this "Home-Control Panel-Help". Click on this "Contol Panel" and it will get you there.

I can't believe I know something computer like. Hope this helps.

hey plucka plucka!
i did a little brick yesterday, and i'm hoping to get in a short run today, sticking to a plan is good, but my legs are SMOKED!! i really need to brick more, as i've HEARD rumor of getting used to that rubber hotdog leg feeling after getting off the bike--is it true?? does anyone have first hand experience with NOT feeling jelly legged after a ride??!?

anyway, it's dh's b-day today (the old fart LOL--he's 15 years older than me, so i tease )
so we're just hanging out, but i might catch a short run later today.

run bike swim little plucky ones!!

Older guys huh?!?

Do the bricks, you go from the jelly legs to just needing some time to loosen up.  Start with small, choppy steps and just get into it.

How fun! It sure is nice to have a little fan club. All the elderly people at our "Y" are always asking me, "How far did you run today," or, "How much weight have you lost now."
