Hi folks, I had to take an unplanned rest day yesterday due to family stuff I had to take care of.

I am still very scared of my courage to do the 8K on Saturday.... But because I also have an unplanned vacation day, I will go running now, just to calm my nerves a little for Saturday.

Relax. You'll be fine.

Ok seriously do you read ALL the threads. Tongue out

Just Write something disparaging about PT Freaks

Like how far back  they are in the challenge

LOL that would be kind of weird since I'm also on that team.

Slugger - 2008-11-06 2:24 AM Found one! Had to choose between the pecan challenge and the crappy weather challenge. You can see which I went for - I didn't think staring at pecan pie for an entire month would be good for my diet plan! LOL!

I don't see it, your old one is still up, I do like the monkey (?) though.

It was a vampire monkey, since I was on the vampires last month. I liked it, too - stood out amongst all these weirdos with athletic-y type stuff. Don't know what that's all about...

So whats everyone doing today?  I've got 30 min on treadmill later today.  I'm up to 10min walk/ 20 min run.  YEAH!!!!

Dunno, whatever my plan tells me, but I'm definitely running. It'll likely be crappy weather, too, so maybe I'll finally get my first addition to THAT challenge!

YOU CAN DOOOEEEEEEET! (a chant from my fencing team...)

So, this totally reminds me of a race I'm looking at this winter. They haven't decided on the course - it'll be between 5-12K. Um, hello??? That's just a touch of difference, dontcha think?

Hi team... Started to run yesterday, then felt sick all of a sudden and had to stop. Just put 1.6 miles in. I am not sure, if I am doing an easy run tonight or probably go on the elliptical.... Well, but tomorrow (hopefully) I will put 4.9 miles against the challenge goal and then would be at 37%.

Ran a hilly XC course on sidewalks , park road , suspended wood trail and grass . About 3+ miles . Followed up with 15 mins on the gym bike to cool down .

Legs acting a little weirded out , probably still fatigued from yesterday weight workout.

Some views from the run :

An artistic Metal statue above a  concrete    ditch  called Creek .

A little later  in  the hills  there are many Oil derricks  .

I *heart* pics.  The first one reminds me of the movies when they are doing car cases through those ditch things.

Last week , a big truck with large wood beams  was driving up that same concrete ditch .

In  a foot of water he was making a delivery to a bridge construction site about a mile

up "river" ....

Hi team.... I finished my first race.... 8K in 48:42 mins.... That's under a 10min/mile and the best pace and the longest distance I have ever run in my life. So I am happy.

My stomach was acting up a lot yesterday and I actually wasn't sure, if I will be able to do the race, but I felt alright this morning and just had a granola bar to make sure that the stomach stays calm.

TOPPAGE is the placement of a post on the top of the page.  I am not sure who invinted it, but 1stTimeTri is spreading it.  Mostly just a fun little game to play.

A lot of fun!!!

Thanks for the definition....now I get it!

I ran a very difficult 10 mile race today!  It is called the South Mountain 10 Miler.  That name should have been my first clue!  The first 5 miles was all hills, including one HUGE mountain lasting almost a full mile!  My time sucked because I walked most of the mountain, but I got it done.  And it was a gorgeous morning!....30 miles completed for the month, 70 more to go!

Keep running Pecans!

Awesome job on the running everyone!

I just realized that I forgot to write down a goal for this challenge. My goal is 16 hours of running. I didn't quite make this goal on last month's running challenge, so I will try again this month.
