Champion 7931 Sequim, Washington | Subject: RE: CHALLENGE Challenge - Determination ebshot - 2009-01-07 4:53 PM mchally - 2009-01-07 7:49 PM I just finished my push-ups. I think that I maxed out at 18, but that seems high...maybe I miscounted. Well, I did at least 15 on my last set. I did 2. Yup 2. Geez I suck. I used to be able to crank out 10 in the summer. Oh boy do I have a long way to go! The last time I tried to do pushups (sometime this summer) I barely managed two. All the time that I have spent digging holes in rocks and clay has really, really paid off. |

Master 1209 New York, NY | Subject: RE: CHALLENGE Challenge - Determination Happy Thursday everyone!! I have some exciting news to share....yesterday I registered for my first HIM (Timberman 70.3)!!! I've been thinking about it for a while, and also about this race in particular. And lately I feel like I've been thinking about it nonstop, and the more I thought about it the more I really really wanted to it this year. When I checked yesterday there were fewer than 100 spots left, so I knew I had to decide soon. Before I knew what I was doing I was clicking submit & registered! I'm sooo excited!!! |

Maybe we can get LazyMarathoner also (Kristin is another Manhattanite that just moved to Brooklyn) and make a group day, there are a bunch of BT'ers in the city!
If you're ever interested my running group has a run every Saturday morning at 9.30 (8.30 during the summer & early fall) in Central Park. It's a lot of fun! There's a pretty wide range of pace groups and we run 5, 6 or 7 miles....although rare is the day that I do more than 5 on a Saturday morning. The best part of the Saturday run, and my biggest motivator for going, is that we go to brunch afterwards. Do you do any of the NYRR races? i just started all this and have only been running since August, so i have not done any NYRR races. I have done some 5k's and 5 milers locally to me and can hold a 10min pace for those at this point, i would love to come down one weekend and meet and run with ya!!

You are going to LOVE Timberman! I've not done that race, but I've done several of the race director's half IM's in Texas (Lonestar and Longhorn). They are the BEST races ever. He puts on a top notch super 'user friendly' race with great shirts, perks, etc! I am so excited that will be your first half! You could not have picked a better race for it's organization and awesomeness! That's so exciting! |

Elite 4372 Connecticut | Subject: RE: CHALLENGE Challenge - Determination Back from the PTO meeting. It wasn't horrible but not fabulous either. They waste way too much time talking about stuff that doesn't have anything to do with the school. I really don't want to spend my entire night there! Now just to wait for the BCS championship game to start! Anyone else watching? Predictions? I couldn't care less who wins but hope it's a good game. |

Elite 4372 Connecticut | Subject: RE: CHALLENGE Challenge - Determination What's everyone doing this weekend? We are expecting some snow tomorrow. Boo! Hopefully I can get my training in before it starts! My BFF was supposed to come down for the weekend but isn't now because of the weather. So, I am thinking that tomorrow is a movie day with some good wine. |
