Meet at 7am to swim.  We can meet at the boathouse and carpool to the swim start if you want.  Then we can ride right after swimming

Is the rowing club going to have the boats out to spot the swimmers again?

anyone wish to bike an extra 7 miles on the course. Thinking of taking right at herdondairy to brier patch back to pine log....

Im supposed to bike 65 on Sat. so I might go that way to add on a little more distance.

Hey Folks...it is with great regret that I will NOT be doing Augusta. Due to some scheduling issues with another race, I am going to have to drop this one from my schedule..

My trainer and I have added the Atlantic Coast Triathlon .. a Half Ironman Distance at Amelia Island a weekend later instead of Augusta. Not an Ironman Branded race but a good test of 70.3 skills.

Ill be in Augusta that day to cheer you guys on. If I can help any of you in a support capacity, please let me know!! Ill be staying at the Marriott

A BT stop on the run course with cold towels and beer might be a good way to support us

Good luck with your 1/2 IM at Amelia Island- I've heard good things about that race!

Ha! I will have to for the swim. Even the backstroke is too much water for my cigar.

Have you guys swam and rode the course already?  What's the review?  Fast swim?  Bike elevation?   I'm from FL and won't get to preview the course but it's nice to know what I'm up against.

haha ok so first time posting...I answered (or you all did actually) my own question.  Great info on here about the course!  There are about 15-20 of us coming up from Sarasota, Fl to do and watch the race so we will be ready to go for any post race celebrations as well!!  woohoo..  Half of us are first 1/2 IM'ers.  Can't wait.  Thanks all for the info!

Just looked at the weather for tomorrow morning.  Not looking good, I'm not going to chance it. Driving in the rain and dark isn't my thing...  If you guys do this every weekend, perhaps I'll try again.  Sorry for the late notice.

Resturant recommendations?

For you Augusta locals or anyone with local knowledge, me and my wife are staying at Mariott down by the race site and thus I would like to take her friday night to a nice restruant as a reward for her patience during my training and watching our 3 YOUNG sugar hyper kids.  I would like a local establishment, not chain, nor fancy 200.00 type, just a local down to earth good eats place close to the hotel (w/i 5 miles).  Any recommendations?

This will also by my first time to Augusta and Im looking forward to seeing your city!

I am pretty certain you will always be able to find someone to ride with from here on out.  Everyone seems to meet around 7:00 AM on Saturday or Sunday.  I plan to ride the course nonstop next weekend.

hrliles - 2009-08-22 2:48 PM Resturant recommendations?

I like The Bee's Knees but the menu may not be as kid friendly.  I also like Blue Sky Kitchen.  If you have the time you can sort through either this thread or the thread in the Georgia forum for more suggestions since others have already asked for suggestions.

If it is just you and the person that supported you there is Bistro 491. Many think it is upscale and only for special occasions but it is reasonably priced in my opinion.  Two can eat for under $100 with no problem.  Of course if you want to spend more you could.  I know the owner and it is a very nice place to eat.
