Got 2/3 of the paper done (though I still have to edit and do the references, which shouldn't be too hard) Tomorrow, I'll be stressed out even more, since the study guides for my lab exam weren't up, but hopefully I do ok on it. Still have three chapters to read tomorrow, by tue. I'll be finishing up 3 other assignments, then finish the paper. By Wed, have two more chapters to read, by thurs. and friday, I'll finish up two books, and do the key terms, and study for my Stats test on Sund... Busy, Busy, Busy!!! I nead a knap! It's 1 am and I'm going to bed (still kind of early since DST, and considering I've been going to bed at 5-6am lately.

I went to mall to get a cell phone charger (my battery died, and I can't find charger), and just for kicks I went into a "normal" size clothing store.

I typically have to pay the high prices of Lane Bryant for pants because of my super strong (but big) bootie and thighs.

I CAN WEAR 'NORMAL' PEOPLE CLOTHES!!!

No more paying ridiculous prices for ugly plus-size clothing. I am so excited!

The cool part was I found a really sweet red jacket for only $19.99. And guess what size I needed?

Huh?

Guess?

NOT an X-large, BUT A LARGE!!!

CONGRATS!!!! This is just awesome!!! Really happy for you

Hey Everyone,

I don't want to be the most bitter person ever constantly complaining but these 4 weeks are the worst in a long, long time. First my back "snaps"and I have to go to "Physio the Witch" - next appointment on 16/03 and she seems to be the only one available for us so I'm praying for this to be the last time I need to go there- and now I got sick- well it actully started on Saturday morning and was fully blown by Sunday. Went to see a doctor at the university today and she said I have a stomach flu. I'm weak as a it is after the last 2 days of sickness and she tells me I should only drink clear liquids for the next 24hrs - normally I wouldn't say anything (maybe even secretly counting for some weight loss) but I have mountains of work to do this week. Then she looked me in the eyes and under my eye lids and all over there and said I look anemic so I have a blood test appointment on Wednesday morning. Seriously like, my first race is in 1,5 months - I don't have time to be injured, sick and anemic. HELP!

Jo, you definitely win the prize for the most shite March, but you're still not smoking which should give you a real (non-nicotine) buzz as that's a fantastic achievement.

You will get better, hopefully Physio witch is boiling eye of newt to sort your back and then you'll be shot of her.  Wish I could Fedex you some of my mate Genny's chicken soup but keep your fluids up, rest as much as you can and try not to stress about the work.  Some iron tablets will soon sort out your anemia and perk you up no end.  You will get better and if you can't do the race, I know you will be gutted, but there will be others.  For now, concentrate on getting well, then you can concentrate on getting fitter and racing.  Sending you cyber hugs.

First, I'd like to thank the Academy for this honour I was actually thinking that me not smoking for 2 MONTHS must help and that if I wasn't off the cigarettes I'd definitely feel worse - I reached this conclusion at about 5am - couldn't sleep at all last night. Also I decided that at 8pm tonight it's gonna be 24hrs from my last meal -so exactly what the doctor prescribed- and I'll try to eat a dry roll. Glad to hear iron tablets can sort me out because my friends were threatening me today to do the following and here I quote "I'll stuff you so full of red meat that your anemia won't know what hit it!" - I definitely prefer the iron tablets option. And thanks a lot for this extremly positive message Daisy- really needed it! Cyber hugs right back at you

I'm still doing well despite beginning the divorce process ... kinda surprising myself here.

I am anxious to know how much weight I've lost - WW is on Wednesday, and I am going to continue with it for at least 8 more weeks. Not sure if I can after that because of the financial sitaution, but if I can't I will buy a scale.

Being without a scale is liberating and a little annoying. I know I am still losing. And I have followed the no-sugar challenge faithfully, although today I was thiiiiiiiis close to buying a soda at lunch.

Plus I look hawt today.

I finally bought a scale. I know the weigh in is not until wed. but let me go ahead and state that Saturday before I started P90X when I weighed myself on my fancy new scale I was 171.1 pounds and 33.3% body fat, kind of depressing. However I am eating healthy according to the nutrition guide I got and faithfully doing my workouts and taking my viatmins (not a mamouth achievment seeing as how its only been 3 days but I am still excited). I am amazingly sore but I am happy to have something to put on my log which had previously been disappointingly bare. Keep smiling everyone, just the act of smiling makes you feel better. Laughing

See.

P.S. I am not sure what to expect as far as weight loss goes for this month but I guess I will set my goal at 165 lbs and 33% body fat.

Rose,  If you stick with P90X you will hit 33% easy.  You will be amazed at the changes in your body.  PM me with your HT, weight, neck, hips and waist and I will tell you what the "Navy method" says your body fat is.

Hey Everyone- I just read through your posts. I am glad I joined the forum.

I am really struggling with portions.  I am very hormonal right now so I hope it will get easier in the next couple of days.  I am a binge monster today!

I took today as a rest day as I am very fatigued and will try to roll out of bed in the morning and get a run in.

Thank you for posting about your work/ health as it is helpful to get a sense of how you are dealing with life while trying to lose some pounds and do some triathlons.  It looks like if  I want to respond to a post the group protocol is to cut and paste the portion of text I want to address right into my response so I will do that when appropriate.

 What is P90x?

It might be easier to use the quote button, instead of cutting and pasting everything...

For portions, you should be eating between 5-6x a day. I found it kind of difficult as I always felt stuffed, until I learned that if I changed the portions I was taking in, I could leave myself hungry for the next meal, and it all works out to help you burn more calories by increasing metabolism.

P90X is a home workout routine, that is 6 days long (if you don't count the X-Stretch on day 7), and keeps you moving, burning fat, building muscle, it even throws yoga, and kenpo karate in there for good measure. For 90 days, you are a mean P90X'ing machine... I did two rounds, with a previous round of P90 before that. It is killer! Saling did a round or two, and there is even a thread in the 'Tri'ing for weightloss' forums. If you google it, it should come back with some youtube clips you can watch of the infomercials.

I'll be finishing up 3 other assignments, then finish the paper. ...turns out I couldn't sleep last night, so I laid down for a few hours then dedicated myself to the smallest of the three chapters... Finished it, and finally fell asleep for about 3 hours, then woke up late and headed to school. I spent most of the morning outlining (mind you, while trying to take notes in stats class) the lab manual for bio, but I got it done... I think I actually did ok, on the exam, though you guys know from my previous experience with this teacher, that whenever I feel comfortable, I know I screwed up somewhere. So hopefully I actually did do ok. As to the other marathon I'm running, got the last bit of the 2 other chapters read, plus ran through the 3 assignments, so tomorrow it's all about finishing the paper/references, and reading 1 chapter. School ends in 2 wks, and I graduate with 1 of my 5 hopeful degrees, and I found out that I'll be receiving a second degree if I take a single class next qtr (it'll be a Psyche emphasis degree) so that's degree # 2. But when school lets out I should have about a wk off to go to the gym to get some sort of sanity back into my life. _od I miss increased HR, and a sweaty shirt... and of course the long hot shower when you're absolutely wore out! Good Stuff!

I know what you mean- my favourite way to chill out after a long day is going for a run around the university grounds with my ipod on. ahhhh.... Hopefully I'll be able to do that next weeks even though I'm currently coughing my lungs out.

So I was talking with my new roommate last night about the no-sugar challenge, and she said if I bring soda home, she is pouring it down the drain. And no ice cream allowed. Rowdy!

It is much easier to lose weight, though, when there aren't bags of potato chips and candy lying around!

205.6 today, down 2.4 from last week, which is really surprising since family was in town for the weekend and I didn't have time to workout, and ate entirely too much.

Only 20 weeks until the 1/2 ironman......
