I ran today for over an hour which is my longest run this year. Though I once ran a marathon it was long, long ago. Now running is my weakness and I am slow as molasses (I have several issues including weight and knee issues). But I'm working on it I hope to do a 10K next month and a half marathon early next year.

wow, teamies...dont talk sooo much! I really cant keep up!

I am away from computer the last few days , good thing is i got some rest and started training again

so my september  challenge totals are again  moving upwards .

Zuma beach is as you know simply  gorgeous country side.  The race went great and i had a decent swim and a smoking bike

3rd out of 30+ in the division ,  the 2  faster guys were on tri bikes &  i have a roadie .  LOL

My run was decent for me but about  1 min/mile off the  fast  podium pace .

I have done  this race 5 years in a row  and ran  a   3 + minute  PR .

So i placed  8th out of 30-40 in the clydesdale + division.

So I did end up doing a run and strength yesterday....I told my friend no hills and we ended up getting "lost" and having to go up this monster...so I punished her with strength training

Did a bike with some friends this morning too...rivervalley in Edmonton=HILLS!!!

Hill training promotes the development of lower leg and quad strength; a good hill training session combines the benefits of weight training with the aerobic and anaerobic conditioning of running or cycling.  In addition, hill training strengthens you mentally; completing these tough workouts will help you deal with the physical discomfort of racing.

how are those legs today??? bet their screaming from all the hills....way to get out and ride the hills today!

if it makes you feel any better, I too did a 6 mile hilly run yesterday....no steepy steepies...but none-the-less HILLS and my legs were a SCREAMING during a few of the ups! They are better after all the advil I took before/during the night

today I am heading out for a bike ride with my husband....we will start out flat -( following the bay South towards Saratoga... and end up with some HILLS! more like small mtns! haha  so I again feel your pain!

have a great ride...be safe and keep the rubber side down!

wow...where were you yesterday Paul??? when all I could think was...WHY AM I RUNNING THESE HILLS...when there is a nice flat trail that circles this park!

Good to know that it I was doing all of ^^^that! I have to admit the more I do it the easier the flat runs are!

I think that I have come down with H1N1.  Felt like crap the past 2 days and I haven't been able to work out.  I feel a little better today then I did yesterday so hopefully this is pass soon and I will be able to get back on track.  I set my goals very aggressive (had to make every workout this month) for extra motivation so I will see if I can make up the time at the tail end of the month.

your health is much more important then this challenge. if you do stay sick...just let Todd know...most times they allow you to reduce  your goals for those sick days.

hope you get to feeling better really soon! dont over do it when you jump back into your training, or you may have a set back <---(sorry that is the mother in me coming out!)

run run run! that is all I seem to be doing lately...today was hard for me to get motivated, but I did run...again!

I am above in my goals for the month...EXCEPT... I do need to make sure to get my two measly swims in before the end of the month....seeing I have not been swimming much lately....someone (one of you artichokes) may need to give me a gentle shove in the pool! fair warning!
