The San Luis Pass and the road in Brazoria County will be CLOSED completely to vehicular traffic. The cyclists will have free reign on the Pass and on the other side. Just got approval/confirmation from the Judge yesterday, and Brazoria County officials. This is great stuff. The road on the other side of the pass has been repaved, and is great. You'll be biking right next to the beach, for 12 miles. It'll now be just a 1 loop bike, unlike last year. Hopefully, that holds everyone over for the next couple of days.... |

He hasn't been the one building it up, don't blame him if the announcement isn't on the "Lance will be there & riding a unicycle" levels. |

Elite 3088 Austin, TX Gold member | Subject: RE: Lonestar full IM in 2011 I'm sitting here trying to speculate on what the announcement may be. We know it's not anything related to a full IM. It's obviously not anything related to the bike course. I don't think there's much different that can be done with the swim. So my guess is that it's a major re-route of the run course. No more multiple loops of twisty turnies through the park, but a one or two loop course. That could explain the delay: permits, barriers, switching aid stations around, stocking them, etc. This is just a slightly educated guess on my part. |
