Thanks!  I see that you are headed to NJ for the holidays.  I live in South Jersey, close to Philadelphia.  I'm sure you've heard we just got hit with a huge blizzard - 2 feet of snow!!!  Please be safe in your travels.  I haven't really considered any other triathlons other than the Mini Sprint.  Races make me incredibly nervous, so I just want to get my feet wet with the first one and see how I make out (read: finish).

Needless to say, the blizzard kept me indoors on Saturday (gym was closed as well), but I was able to do my workouts yesterday and today.  I'm staying local for the holidays, so I'll be able to work out according to plan.

Yep! I was actually excited about the snow. Las Vegas don't get any. Last year the Henderson residents (southern part of Las Vegas, and more in the valley, and lower elevation) freaked out with 2 inches of snow. I was laughing at some of my classmates and a friend who never drove in the snow or experienced the thrill of snow. 2 inches? ALL SCHOOLS were closed! LOL.

Anyways, I live in northern central part of Jersey. I was so happy to snow before my flight...and it wasn't cancelled. First thing I did, I ate some snow. I know I'm a dweeb, but when you don't get snow, you tresure the little things.

I totally forgot my mom has a treadmill, so I'm going to see if I can do more runs that way in case if I can't "breathe" well outside since you're breathing in cold air, so I'm not sure how that will affect me. Maybe I'll get a run in today, we'll see.

That is a sweet bike, I am jealous.  Was going to hit the trainer Monday and had to pick up the oldest at school.  He threw up on the bus.  Than I got it later that night and so did the wife.  That left our 2.5 yr old to take care of us.  He did a good job too.  I am hoping to get back in the swing of things x-mas eve ot x-mas.  Hope everybody has a Merry Christmas.

Yeah...I can't wait. I only got to put it on the trainer for a few minutes today. It's really tall...frame size 61 and I can't touch the ground when I'm in the saddle at all. haha!

firstteeth - 2009-12-21 11:58 PM Got a little (one handed) trainer ride in Sat, but my bad shoulder is making it impossible to swim or run (or sleep through the night).  Have an appointment with sports medicine/orthopedic surgeon for evaluation on Wednesday...hopefully I will get some exercises/physical therapy and be able to get back after it...not being able to do much is getting very frustrating!  Wish me luck, I am worried!

oh man....that is really tough.  Have you got it checked out yet at all?  Good luck, this is a good time of year to get on top of nagging injuries.  I know this one is more than nagging.  I hate losing sleep because of pain.  Does taking advil before bed do anything for you?

Have been reluctant to take much for pain, as I don't want to mask symptoms and possibly do more damage.  I should know more tomorrow and THANKS for the words of encouragement.

Ouch, sorry your shoulder is giving so much trouble. Are you thinking they'll want to do surgery?

More worried they may recommend it, not sure what I think Undecided

I was having problems with the back of my neck and went to a chiropractor and they fixed that and helped my shoulder in the process.

Am starting to get neck and back pain secondary to the shoulder not functioning well.  My best friend is a chiropractor, I'll go see her as well, thanks!

Are you really worried about doing damage while you sleep?  I'm no doctor, but if that's the case, you need to take care of that ASAP.  Again, good luck!

61 cm-dude! How tall are you? I am 5'10-5'11 and I ride 54cm Cervelo. I saw the new P2's in a shop the other day.  Really like the white/red/black.  Is it too late to add something to my list for Christmas? I suspect my supportive wife would not be happy to see another bike in the garage.

Haha, yeah...6'-3".  I could have gone with a 58, but with very little adjustment available.  I was also surprised to find out I was a 61.  The guys at fitwerx know what they are talking about so I wasn't about to argue.  It feels fast too, which is fun fun fun!

You should run it past the wife....or you could just do what I did and sell a motorcycle to buy it!!!  Amazing how our priorities change over the years...and i'm only 28.

Whoa! what a TALL, Sweeeeet bike! I'm 5' so I have a TINY short bike...48cm! I named mine Roulette because it was "born" in Vegas, and it's red/black/white. You outta name your bike!

I also check out SWMBIKRUN group from time to time, so yeah a lot of useless posts, hence why I came over here, although, if I ask a simple question I get a whole bunch of answers, so it kind of helps, but it's a bit overwhelming.

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!
